I never understood that. A guy could get pulverized and there would be a third fight?

Then...we see what happens next time. Because knowing this pair, 1 & 2 are both options any given night, and one night's outcome doesn't necessarily inform the next one's. You could easily have the first outcome in the rematch and second in the rubber, or vice-versa.

Yeah but he is getting royally stiffed. He's been in with more contenders and fringe contenders in the last three years than any other Heavyweight. I'm not one of these single agenda posters like some but I do feel sorry for the guy.

Don’t see the sense of a third fight if Fury wins. It will essentially be 2 0 Fury.

I hear you there, and that is part of the interest of this matchup, anything can happen. I am however uncomfortable with the idea of scheduling multiple fights in a row however, it sets a bad precedent. You can already see some folks reaction to it thinking that the outcome has already been decided etc. I am not one of them, but that narrative exists.
Let me give you an example, what if Garcia and Spence signed a multi-fight deal right away? You want to tune in to that rematch? This is not a perfect comparison, as those two did not fight to a controversial draw already, but you can still project the logic. The political side of boxing, and the avoidance between top boxers is easily the worst part about being a boxing fan, at least for me. And yes these are two top boxers getting in the ring, but scheduling that 3rd fight already just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and with so many possible outcomes there are several things that could occur which would render that 3rd bout moot.

No need for a third fight, just more preparations getting put in place to fleece more sheep of their PPV money!!

If wilder knocks out this fraud, he better move on, go after Dillian or Usyk if AJ doesn’t fight him. The only way I wanna see a 3rd Fury is if Fury beats him

Imagine if a 3rd fight between Aj and Ruiz was agreed before the 2nd

How much of an anticlimax would that have been

Seems like a great way for them to avoid AJ, and Whyte too!

I hope they understand how disappointing this is for the fans who want to see them all fight each other whilst they’re in their primes.

Also, no matter how much they yap on about it, Fury v Wilder is NOT the “biggest fight in boxing” - They know full well that the biggest fight involves one of them, and AJ.
