Richard Riakporhe vs. Jack Massey & Luthando Nqobile Mtimkulu vs. Frederick Gleluo Kiwitt RBR

Interesting fight. Loads of time left, and given how they have managed each to somewhat trouble his opponent for a round with their respective styles, I'm really curious to see what happens as (if) this goes deeper, what their respective gas tanks are made of, who can then muster a better second wind, etc...

 

Round 3

Riakporhe is getting crowded into retreat, Massey bearing down with right hands behind a careful lowered-drawbridge jab out from a high guard, all while dipping and U-swerving on the way in. Riakporhe gets the worst of things for over two minutes, either missing big rights behind Massey's head or trying and failing to clinch - but finally he clacks his right fist against Massey's temple and his legs almost splatter into liquidity. Massey able to stay upright but Riakporhe is upon him, showing killer instinct, but not great accuracy. Riakporhe blasting with full power, but Massey able to shell up and take it.

Basically a perfect hybrid thereof, yeah.

 

That was a CLEAR round for Massey until that one punch changed it all.

 

Round 4

Massey unbowed, attacking the body of Riakporhe. Lots of tying up by Riakporhe, not even doing any effective infighting once done, just hanging on and suffocating the action into armistice. Massey doing his best to clout Riakporhe with at least one downward clout on the head before getting dragged into the quicksand. Massey the only aggressor when they are separated out to mid-range or further.

Round 5

Riakporhe is flitting away from Massey, pushing off the ball of either foot to alight in the same general spot but a meter further out, as if on a conveyor belt, unable to get off the assigned rail or think outside the box in terms of his footwork. Massey is flurrying in, and getting yanked into a hug as he scraps in close and pins Riakporhe on the ropes, while blocking his weak backfoot jabs on the way in. Massey doing his best to maul but cannot remain freed up for long before Riakporhe cloys their arms together.

He's like a robot with very simple programming. As if he were made by a precociously nerdy 10th grader, but a 10th grader nonetheless.
