I would have said Ruiz had the fastest hands in the heavyweight division until AJ exposed him a little, Usyk has very quick hands and feet and a quick brain, he makes quick little moves to keep an opponent guessing, but is any heavy quicker right now? Fury? Wilder? Who is the fastest out of the current big guys?

Wilder has the greatest speed imo. However, he has greater problems getting “set up” to deliver that speed then some of the other fast guys.

Fury is not in the convo imo, it’s his timing that makes him good.

Interesting, I thought that those fights affirmed the hand speed thing. The way Joshua won that wasn't by fighting speed with speed, it was if anything doing everything he could to nullify the hand speed by keeping out of range of them as whenever he "got involved" he got clipped and hurt - even against a out-of-shape-even-for-Ruiz version of Ruiz

Neutralising someone's strength doesn't mean it's not as strong as first thought, it means that you have other weapons that if applied correctly are able to make up for that advantage the opponent has.

Hand speed is hand speed regardless of win/loss

Ruiz throws the fastest combinations, especially with power. Usyk is runner up in that category. Wilder throws the fastest single shots, obviously with nuclear power. Usyk is runner up in that category as well. Usyk has the fastest feet. Wilder or Joseph Parker are runners up here, but Parker's superior footwork and balance gives him the nod over Wilder.

Fury`s footspeed is quick though and his reflexes too.

    Handspeed - Ruiz
    Footspeed - Usyk

Yes, but I was more commenting on how his slow footwork got really exposed.

I agree but he used his quicker feet to beat Ruiz and his timing and hand speed allowed him to score quite well too.

Of course, but your post specifically states hand speed - there was nothing that AJ did which indicated Ruiz's hand speed didn't live up to the hype, or that AJ's was quicker... just he essentially did what he should have last time, and been more mobile than the much smaller guy who also has a lot more mass and fired from out of his range.

I'd say Andy Ruiz. Just watch one of his pad sessions. They're awesome.

In the past, I would say Mike Tyson. For the current one, I would say Wilder.
