except Jacobs. Sure it was a bad look for Jr. and the fans. But the announcers didn’t need to play into the hyperbole. They could have rose above.

They should have found out exactly why Jr. quit first, but I think they and most fans didn't really care, they wanted Jr.
fighting with a bleeding busted nose no matter how he felt, because remember its all about being a WARRIOR and not having any quit in you.

Let's be honest! It was a real bad look for Jr. If his quitting was an isolated incident then I would agree with you that the announcers over reacted. But, just for this fight alone Jr. acted unprofessional throughout the entire build up of the fight. Then to quit when it appeared that he wasn't hurt. The round ended and he quit. Oh, he has a very tainted past as well. So, yeah, he deserves all the criticism he gets.

If you were hurt so bad you can’t continue says so. That isn’t what Jr did. He started making excuses. His own corner was befuddle as what was going on. Disgusts me that fans only hear and see what they want when it comes to this guy. He told his corner he broke his hand. This isnt made up. It was recorded. His corner told ref it was his eyes. He couldn’t continue. After the fight he is crying about elbows and head butts. The hand miraculously healed.

also Someone please post a video of the elbow and butts. No one has cause there were none.

Add in the fiasco leading to the fight and his past BS, how can anyone defend his excuse.

The thing us Mexican don't quit for a broken nose, just see Marquez Margarito Vasquez ect... That's why the crowd got upset , it was not like if Chavez was taking huge beating.

his father fought a ton of bums and handpicked hometown fights and was the benefactor of dubious decisions. The whole family is a disgrace.

Well... than being said.... his father is in everyone's OTG list ....so sure... some of the points you mentioned are valid.... yet he never quieted in the face of adversity.... or a simple cut over the eye.

Agreed! If he was a fighter of half way decent character, then perhaps he deserves some slack, but there has been too many situations like this and deserves to be critisized.

I completely agree with you, the great JMM got dropped three times, his nose busted and broken in the very first round against Manny Paquiao who is 10X the fighter Danny Jacobs is and we all witnessed what JMM went on to do for the next 11 rounds.

My beef is with the DAZN broadcast team that tore Jr. up. I think they need to be more professional about the matter and find out the exact circumstances before spewing out their venom.
By Jrs. past actions and lack of discipline, we already knew he didn't have that special fire in him to win at all cost.
Fighters like that will refuse to go through the meat grinder to stay afloat.
I would have hoped Chavez would have given it a round or two and attempted to climb out of the hole he was in, however I am not going to insult any fighter that refuses to put himself through that meat grinder in order to achieve victory if its just not in him to do so.

I'm understanding of the boos and even cups being hurled in the air by fans, but boxing is to dangerous a sport to have professional boxing broadcasters calling a fighter a quitter. I don't stand for that.

Things were not going his way and he was looking for a way out. He came up with a bunch of them before settling on the injuries due to fouls.

The Mexican thing is overplayed. It's a stereotype. Not everyone's the same.

Junior has the mental toughness of a pampered and entitled playboy. Oh wait....

They should have tore Jr up...his record and antics in the ring preceds him everywhere... with reason!

I was ok that they tore him up...and they should take his license for good... or hold the purse for him.
