Just beat the hell out of Edgar. What a performance and resurgence after mandatory military service and injuries in top of that. Throwback fighter in every sense of the term. Give the man his shot! "I want Volkanovski!."
Frankie looks a tad worn, he had his bite of the cherry a few times and came up short, wonder if his mindset is in it, after getting a shot against Max and did nothing, then Alex comes in and shows how it's done...Alex has a broken hand and out for a while, be interesting if Max will bless the Zombie
Id like to see KZ get the shot. Max should take some time off. He looks a bit worn out. Not nearly as effective as he was a year or two ago. Zabit and Emmett are obviously in the mix as well. Really interesting division. It's totally opened up with Holloway being dethroned.
Yeah stunned him early. Dropped him and then pounded on him for like 2 minutes. Edgar somehow managed to get to his feet but was almost immediately stunned against before being dropped again before Goddard finally decided to wave off. Could have beaten stopped a lot earlier tbh. Jung had him flattened out a few times and punched Edgar repeatedly without much resistance.
Haven't watched yet but sounds like a nice win,he's probably 1 fight away from title shot if they give Holloway rematch which seems likely. Couple of upsets with Raksic losing which was huge shock but Oezdemir is no scrub and Do Hochoi unfortunately who has been KO'd in both fights since his war with Swanson
Thanks! Just saw it. KZ looked awesome, especially for someone who hasn't been as active as Edgar. Frankie has slowed down now, and his chin has been cracked. Ortega stole his soul. I feel that Frankie never moved with the times and really settled in one weightclass. There was ALWAYS the "he can go lower", and his mesh of boxing & wrestling just wasn't enough combined with the size and well roundedness of the modern MMA'er (people forget how long Edgar has been around!). Time to retire if you're getting stopped by guys who have been as inactive as KZ.
Edgar is done at the top level these days but what a great fighter he has been. It's incredible a guy of his size was able to be the champ at 155. Realistically Edgar was only ever the size of a 135 lber. He is a midget. Great fighter and great heart.
Edgar took the fight at 14 days notice, and was in middle of cutting down to bantam weight for a January fight. I don't think he's done yet, but do feel he was ill prepared.
Would not be shocked to see the dip**** total cringe worthy Cejudo try and get the Edgar title fight when he moves down to Bantamweight to go along with his call out of Aldo after he lost last week, instead of fighting the real contenders in each division like future champ Peter Yan at bantam and at flyweight Benavidez who was last guy to beat him . Cejudo is a great athlete obv but he's lucky he doesn't have to fight prime Edgar or Aldo.as they who would have absolutely schooled him and saved us all having to deal with his pro wrestling shtick.
Yan puts Cejudo to sleep. Nobody wants that fight. The walls are closing in on Cejudo. He was stripped of his easier to defend belt and now he's looking for easier legacy fights at Bantamweight instead of top contenders like Yan and Sterling. The sooner than idiot is dethroned the better for the sport.
Can never write off the Korean Zombie. Has been in some great fights and always brings it to his opponent. Shame for Frankie but I didn't see him winning this one, even if it went the distance.
