I thought the same thing. You’d think someone as media savvy as “Invisible Al” would’ve tasked Sam Watson and his boys to coach Errol on things to say for PR rehab.

His eyes always look dopey and he talks like he`s a little sluggish in his thinking.

Nothing wrong with Spence physically, I just think that mentally he's self conscious about getting his face busted up or his teeth cracked again. His first hard fight will tell what he is all about. Actually I think that the accident is gonna make him an all around better fighter. I think that he will be more attuned to ending a fight as soon as possible and getting hit as less as possible while doing it. I think that he should take a tune up fight at maybe 60-40 in his favor before going in with a Pac, Swift, or Crawford. Only time will tell.

I was going to say he talks like people from that area the drawls and accent are normal....I hear no slurring but apparently many have never heard regular small town people from the south speaking it is hard to understand if you have never heard it the syntax is different

Glad to see great minds think alike! He's always spoken slowly and with a drawl....people here are expecting a Shakespearean actor FFS!

A car crash in which he sustained non-trivial injuries will make him a better fighter? Seen dumb things in this forum but this is up there. I doubt whether Spence will beat a top fighter again in his career.

Why do you say this? Not disagreeing with you, just curious why you think this is? Weight gain while he was recovering from the injury?

Yeah thats all I reckon, judging from this video he maybe 35-40 pounds over easy. I not saying its not possible but he was huge for welterweight also. Plus any niggling injuries etc after the crash, he wont be pushing the body to the max anytime soon

He was coached. He has a pending case and can’t mention alcohol publicly at this point. @RealDeal

If he was coached, either the publicist sucks or Errol’s really bad at following through on good advice.

Without mentioning alcohol, he could’ve said something like:

“My lapse in judgment taught me a valuable lesson, to not take anything for granted. I am lucky to be alive and am extremely grateful that my recklessness did not physically harm an innocent person.

I’d like to apologize to Mr. Haymon, the networks, and my fans for letting them down. I’d also like to apologize to my rivals for jeopardizing fights that will prove to everyone that I am the best welterweight in the world. Either way, I can assure everyone that I will make better decisions going forward.

Thanks again for your support. I look forward to returning to the ring in 2020 against whomever my team recommends. I hope you understand my decision to not answer any further questions at this time due to pending legal issues.”

    That’s an admission of guilt.

Not necessarily, he could be referring to speeding, which he's not been charged with.
