Is Wilder better served throwing LESS punches in Fury rematch?

He noticeably punched himself out swinging and missing horribly on Fury at times, he Fury had any real power he would have stopped Wilder when he was blowing out his arse in round 9-10. Should he conserve energy? accept he is clearly getting out boxed and save up energy for a huge bomb which can happen any time from 1-12? Kinda like the Ortiz rematch.

Wilder didn`t throw many shots in that fight, there have been many heavyweight fights when fighters have thrown far morre punche than that, it was more of a chess match, Wilder missed so much because Fury is good at slipping shots, throwing less shots v Fury would be suicide, Wilder was getting closer and closer with the right hand until he caught him those couple of times flooring Fury, what Wilder needs to do is throw feints, flinching Fury out of position and then catching him, that way he would be missing less and would be harder to counter, can`t wait.

Lmao if he threw less he’d have to be checked for a pulse. For a guy that looks to be in great shape he really isn’t.

Neither guy threw a lot of punches, and Wilder gassed because he has poor stamina.

Wilder has good physical attributes for a counter-puncher, and if he had any real talent at all, his handlers should have turned him one. But he doesn't, which is why he instead targets physically sick fighters, and failed to beat the only good one he got in the rind with.

    I think it's very complex

If you keep a low out put you play into fury's hands of a slow paced fight that he likes: wilder 1 and Klitschko

If you open up you get countered

I think the more you throw at fury the more reactions you create and by doing that you may create a pattern of slips that can be timed

Wilder said he fought the majority of the first fight tense and looking for the bomb. He said as it went on he got more relaxed and that's when he got the knockdowns. Maybe he saw something he can exploit or maybe fury just took his eye off the ball and got too comfortable in there

I've contended that wilder has the higher upside given he has much more room for improvement

It’s never a good thing to constantly throw and miss. It will wear a man down every time and can even lead to throwing out a shoulder. I’m wondering if maybe working the body of Fury a bit more may be the key but not entirely sure.

Na, think the only reason he got success was because fury tired with the lay off...he started to get sloppy....with wilder pushing the pace. . If he tries to conserve his energy fury wont tire....thats what fury wants cause he,ll outbox him without too much trouble over the twelve.

Ortiz had to chase wilder about the ring....meaning wilder could conserve his energy...he doesn,t really have that option with fury tho....with him having the shorter reach and not as good of a boxer. Plus a guy thats had three years off....put of 10 stone in weight...its probably a good move trying to up the pace.

Honestly I think he’s having the same game plan he did in the second Ortiz fight.. Don’t be surprised if Fury wins Fury vs Wlad style and bore this one out.. But also don’t be surprised if he get too cocky and gets caught clean just like Ortiz.. I think we all know Fury will outbox him for a period of time the question can Fury avoid getting KOed which I don’t feel he can..

Yeah I’d like to see Deontay be the man but until otherwise proven, I have to give the edge to Fury. He won practically every round last time and I think those knockdowns were partially due to clowning and complacency - something I don’t think he’ll display this time around.

It's not the volume of punching that needs to change, it's how he can implement punch control and discipline, he loads up too much and throws caution to the wind but he's gotta remember he is not invincible

He needs to throw them down the pipe way more often. Swinging and completely missing with looping shots will zap your energy.

A slower pace favors Fury 100%, mainly because Fury is not Joe Louis-James Toney-JMM-Luis Ortiz type of fighter who will painfully make you pay for ever punch you miss. Fury counters are relatively less lethal & only create more opportunities.

The more punches thrown, the higher the probability of Fury going down, the Ortiz 2 fight plan was specially tailored to take away Luis Ortiz dangerous ability to land counters early in the fight. Expect fireworks vs Fury or any other future opponent, Luis Ortiz was the last dangerous counter-puncher in this boxing era

I think I see what you mean, but rephrase it to more patience and pick your shots.. similar to Ortiz rematch but with a bit more pressure.
