Help me out. How did Gamboa expose Davis? Like I mentioned in another post, other than Davis's lack of training, Gamboa really didn't do anything to Davis.

Yep, he exposed Davis’ lack of discipline and professionalism. He also exposed Davis’ lack of punching power at 135. He hit a chinny, injured guy flush with everything he had and couldn’t put him away for nearly 12 rounds. Davis also gassed later in the fight and even gave up a couple rounds to the ghost of Gamboa. Gamboa could barely throw a legitimate punch. The fight exposed Tank as a guy who has no business at 135 and not enough discipline to make 130.

Time will tell. Davis has talent, but how far will it take him with his lack of discipline.

He’s an exciting young fighter and is very aggressive. I hope he lives up to the hype.

Hope he doesn't become another Broner. I like to see guys that should never make it, succeed and do well.

Personally, I no longer consider him top tier boxer since he lost to Castellanos. He has been on downhill since he went to jail and the fight against Crawford is probably the last time I see the glimpse of his old self before finally stopped by a bigger, better boxer.

The reason why Gamboa chosen as Tank Davis' first opponent in 135 is because he is a washed-up big name who still has adequate record to be ranked quite high for title match. And for the last three years, Gamboa has been fighting in 130 which is considered ideal opponent to fight for him, avoiding a natural lightweight. If it is Gamboa's old self, Davis wouldn't even think to face him at the first place.

Gamboa had been done as a top tier boxer since Crawford stopped him.

He should call out Juanma. It has simmered long enough.

Gamboa was really, honestly pretty much done once he ballooned out of the FW division. He never was a legit LW, and he's done nothing but look precarious at SFW. Had he went to SFW directly from FW and been more active things may have been different. His career above FW was a cluster of senseless decisions.

He has been finished for nearly a decade. Inactivity due to signing with 50 Cent, getting arrested and getting busted for peds all happened around the same time in 2012-13. That was the end for him.

"Bosch’s hand-written drug regimen for Gamboa, which was prepared in advance of an anticipated fight with Brandon Rios, appears to include the banned substances HGH (Human Growth Hormone), DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone), and a note to 'Start clean-up Dec. 1.'"

Is it wrong of me to think he's been done since well before the loss to Bud? Like around the Farenas or Perez matches.
