As impressive as that is undoubtedly is, in complete contrast to that, today also marks one of the most shameless episodes in the history of our beloved sport: The fourth decade Roy has been ducking Steve ''The Celtic Warrior'' Collins which FTR is by far the longest duck in the history of combat sports.

Let me just stress again what an amazing accomplishment this is for Pac, truly gifted fighter.
I’m glad someone made a thread about it and let everyone know, thanks OP.

How can the record for most world title fights be 28? Joe Louis' consecutive defense record of the HW title was 26. I'm positive JCC Sr. had over thirty.

Wladimir Klitschko has about 30 world title fights and it wasn't a record, I'm pretty sure.

But the OP record is pretty interesting. Who else could match it, conceivably? Not many guys that were active in the 90's around today, let alone that held belts in the nineties, aughts, and teens.

Look at someone like Diablo Włodarczyk; he's still technically kicking around but ancient now, and he only debuted in 2000.

I suppose if Mayweather returns and guns for a belt..

Sorry, I should clarify. Pacquiao's fought the most champions. I believe that number is actually 30.

Those posters who insist that Pacman must be on Peds because his head seems to have grown increasingly larger over the years, this pic shows that they gotta be wrong because even as a puny youth his head has always looked too big in proportion to the rest of his body.

Best part is,he was never caught, yet the guy who talked about cleaning up the sport got caught with a needle in his arm. Pretty ironic.

I'm so tired of seeing Pacquiao's greatness promotion in this forum. Most of us have already known how great Pacquiao is. I don't hate Pacquiao because I am a fan of his.:loco:

I'm nearly certain that one isn't a record. Hopkins jumps to mind.

Slick enough to win one title per division. No need to unify ever. Well I take that back he tried.
    OPBF Fly Title
World Boxing Council World Fly Title
World Boxing Council International Super Bantam Title
International Boxing Federation World Super Bantam Title
World Boxing Council International Super Feather Title
World Boxing Council World Light Title
World Boxing Organisation World Welter Title
vacant World Boxing Council Diamond Welter Title
vacant World Boxing Council World Super Welter Title
vacant World Boxing Organisation International Welter Title
World Boxing Association World Welter Title
World Boxing Association Super World Welter Title

Seems diamond belt is respected by some. Along with the International and not sure how prestigious the OPBF strap is. An exciting fighter in any era.

As for this thread, actually a good tribute- to win a strap in 4 decades is indeed a great record set. Very difficult to maintain health that long.

Doesn't make him the best, rather proving he could stand the test of time -given there are enough weight classes & belts that he could pick n choose.
Unlike yesteryear's era- They didn't have 17 weight classes, let along 4-6 belts per division. I got to think if we put Barney Ross, Benny Leonard, Ray Robinson, Charley Burley they'd have won in 6-8 weight classes.
And the great Henry Armstrong holding 3 at once? Today he'd be a 10 division champ with unification is probably 3 or 4.
Put Pac in with 8 classes- 2 belts only-not sure how many he'd win.
They thought about unifying back in the day. Not today. 1 alphabet soup belt is good enough!

And the ONLY Ex-Congressman AND Senator (todate) who held 8 Divisions Champion - Hard to dispute that...
