By that logic it would be worth it for people to subscribe for the 1 year for $99.99 deal
Which is what he is trying to accomplish.
Other wise people will pay $80 total for 4 PPV in 1 year the way it is set up now.

Eddie want to make it so the people buying 3-4 times a year are taxed for $150-$200 so that they go for the yearly $99 bundle.

    what a deal!

This isn't what Hearns is saying, He want to talk to Dazn on upping the price to $50 a month, more than doubling what people are currently paying.

People are already buying the $99 deal or going the monthly 19.99.

Are you subscribed to the yearly $99
    Or the monthly $20/mo?

he is talking about raising it to $50/mo for the casuals doing one offs month to month.

If your subscribed to the $99/year
You have nothing to worry about that price is locked in.

watch the video it is exactly what he is saying.
He is trying to discourage people from ordering it like a monthly PPV.
In which they get the PPV event plus a month of ”free” boxing for $20

hiking the month to month fee to $50 for PPV event plus month of “free” boxing is still a better value the $74.99 for other Guys PPV one off events.

You are 100% correct on Hearns wanting to strong arm people into buying the package instead of going the monthly route.

I have the $99 sub myself but I also know people who would rather do the monthly cause they only want to see certain fights and paying the monthly is cheaper than the $99 if they only see 3 or 4 fights a year. Will it force these buyers to switch? I don't think it will.

Maybe not but the value is still there.
I know for sure I would rather pay $99/yr
For 4-5 PPVs plus all the boxing in between.
But then again I suppose I’m not the casual targeted demographic.

This. Soooo this. Let me say I dont have DAZN because I know how this works and the price they were offering was not going to last. Its only going to go up. Hearn is an idiot if he said that though. You dont make that big a jump in price. What you do is raise the price incrementally and basically see how high you can go before subs start leaving. This just shows how blinded by greed Hearn is that hes not even being rational about this. I think DAZN is a great value right now but I refuse to sub because I know how this is going to end.

He said he thinks DAZN should push the 99.99 annual fee by raising the monthly fee to 50.00. He also said they are over 1 million subscribers right now in the US, which is decent for being a little over 12 months old now.

Exactly this.... seems non body actually listened to the interview. He said that last year you got Canelo vs Jacobs and Kovalev a GGG fight, AJ vs Ruiz 1 and 2 plus all the other fights like Haney, Garcia, Andrade etc for $99.99. He said that he feels people should take up the yearly option rather than pay $75 for one PPV and in the US to watch all of this years PPV you would be paying ten time a DAZN subscription.

he feels it’s the best value in boxing and DAZN should entice people to take it by putting up the monthly drop in and out subscription. To get people hooked on DAZN for a year. It’s still the strangest concept to me that if you are a Boxing fan why you would prefer shelling out $75 a every other month and not want DAZN to succeed that offers you the ability to save a lot of money.

I'm actually Paying about $50, (¥5,500) monthly for WOWOW in Tokyo but that includes movie 2 channels.
But yeah Eddie is a Jerk to even suggest that.

Said long time ago DAZN is going down the pan.
Big fights are still not being made. Like GGG vs Canelo.
Model as it is, its unsustainable without price increases.

That's even worse as PPV! Who would be stupid enough to pay that?
I doubt even the lunatic "I can afford it, so I pay whatever ridiculous price they ask me for it" status symbol crew would

That sounds more like wishful thinking on your behalf. If you paid the 100 dollars for dazn's 2019 schedule and are not happy then you should stop pretending you are a boxing fan.
