Props to Munguia. Spike's a high class gatekeeper, a bit like Sergey Khomitsky used to be. He could have just tested his guns against some stiff for his first time at Middleweight but this could be a real fight, at least for a while.

Why is Munguia fighting Daniel Day-Lewis? Kind of a mis-match if you ask me.

They will feed Munguia easy fight for the next 2 years.

I hate guys who win belts at a young age, claims to be the champ and at the same time the handler cry that they need these easy fight to mature. If that’s the case you shouldn’t be a champ.

I predict Spike sharts on the canvas live on National Television.

I like spike but he has Zero poker face.

As soon as you nail him, he looks like he was kicked in the head by a horse

So true. Guys like Tank Davis who win secondary belts, strut around calling themselves champions but refuse to fight top opponents or even decent opposition in Tanks case. Munglia has some serious flaws in his game. I don’t see them putting him against top opponents for a long time. He’s not ready and will get destroyed.

God knows how spike keeps getting these fights, Lemmy slapped him like a little bald runt. Even Kell brook could play silly beggars at middleweight and slap spike about.

Well, like I said, high class gatekeeper. The fight makes sense for Munguia of course, otherwise they wouldn't have taken it, but when you compare it to Usyk v Witherspoon, at least it maybe competitive for the first 4 rounds, a rarity these days.

Only question I have about this fight is will Spike make it past 6 rounds?

Takam pulled out and then Spong failed a drug test, I wouldn't say these two situations are comparable really. Plus moving up to HW is different than any up division jump. It'll probably be good fun for a couple of rounds but a world champion moving up probably ought to be fighting someone a little better. Though given most of Munguia's comp then it isn't surprising

Signed to GBP. And GBP is just using him as someone with a name that they can feed to their own more popular stars.

How many of spikes fights have you experts seen? He was incredibly unlucky against lemieux. Had he not got one and done in spectacular fashion he could have potentially won that fight. Lemieux is one of the hardest punchers in history and outweighed spike by 20 lbs. Spike is really only a light middleweight. All his big chance fights have come against plus sized full middle weights. Munguia is huge too. But munguia is not a big puncher. Also munguia is easy to hit. Also spike hits hard. This will be more competitive than you experts think. Obviously we must favour the buyer younger fresher guy. But spike might make it hot for him, at least for a while.
