Tyson's star certainly shone brighter at his best, but Holyfield has the longevity and the h2h wins

Add in his accomplishments at Cruiser and it's very hard to pick Tyson

All if's and buts, but had Mike not gone to prison and regained his title from Holy? Then he would certainly rank higher

I don't know who would of won that fight then? I don't buy the whole "holy always had his number"

I certainly pick Mike from the mid to late 80's to beat any version of Evander

I think it might of been a legit 50-50 when they were originally going to fight. However, I still think I lean to Mike, as he was absolutely walking through Razor Ruddock (A hard punching heavy that nobody seemed to want to fight)

I think he would of earned a hard fought points decision with Holyfield when they were originally scheduled to fight

He wasn't with rooney, but he still had the grit and determination to be champ and he had no ring rust

Mike Tyson turned pro in 1985 and went 37-0 (33) overall and 10-0 (8) in HW World Title Fights prior to his KO loss to Douglas at age 23 in 1990. During this undefeated stretch he beat Hall of Famers Holmes and M. Spinks as well as world title holders Ratliff, Berbick, Smith, Thomas, Tucker, Tubbs, and Bruno.

Evander Holyfield turned pro in 1984 and went 28-0(22) overall and 10-0 (7) n World Title Fights prior to his decision loss to Bowe at age 30 in 1992. During this undefeated stretch he beat Hall of Famers Qawi x2, DeLeon, Foreman, and Holmes as well as world title holders Booze, Ocasio, Thomas, Dokes, and Douglas.

Tyson went 2-4 (2) in HW World Title fights after his undefeated streak. He did not beat anymore Hall of Famers.

Holyfield went 6-6-2 (2) in World Title fights after his undefeated streak. He beat Hall of Famers Bowe and Tyson x2. He had a draw with Hall of Famer Lewis. Holyfield also beat 7 Lineal HW World Champions in Foreman, Holmes, Tyson x2, Douglas, Bowe, Moorer, and Rahman. No fighter has defeated more Lineal HW World Champs. Keep in mind that at age 46 he was robbed of a decision vs. Valuev for the WBA belt.

Youngest to lose it as well, 23. Holyfield went undefeated thru the first 8 years of his career, did not lose until age 30.

The same Ruddock who was stopped in the 2nd round by Lewis... damn near stopped in th 1st round. Ruddock was looked at as an uncrowned champion going into the Lewis fight and it was based off his two performances vs. Tyson and his brutal KOs over past-prime versions of Dokes and Bonecruher Smith. Smith did drop Ruddock early though. The wins over Ruddock are good but Tyson should have been able to get a legit stoppage over Ruddock. I think Holyfield beats him in 1990 (had Tyson defeated Douglas first), I think Holyfield beats him on 11/8/91 (my 17th birthday), or in the spring of '92. Now, could Holyfield at his very best (perhaps the 2nd Bowe fight) beat Tyson at his best (probably the Pinklon Thomas fight)? I'll take Holyfield.

Ask him if the band Metallica or Glenn Danzig was more influential to other musicians.

Jack: "Glenn who" Hmm, Metallica?! ...and Jack would be wrong, again.

Tyson is the most famous boxer of all time along with Muhammad Ali. He had a very pleasing style to watch, everyone wants to see knockouts and Tyson delivered them time after time, even after prison.

His out of ring activities also added to his fame.

Holyfield beat Tyson twice and yes Tyson wasn't at his peak but neither was Holyfield. There is a reason why Tyson was an overwhelming favourite against Holyfield before their first fight.

Holyfield just had too much determination for Tyson. Holyfield only struggled against Bowe and Lewis and that's because they were a lot bigger than him. 5'10 Tyson would never bother him.

Your title says "greatest" not "best". Two different things. For example Babe Ruth is the greatest baseball player but not the best.

That being the case, I vote Tyson for his impact on the sport both in and out of the ring. Holyfield has and will continue to have a good reputation but is not the media figure that Tyson has been and still is now.

240lbs at 6'6 is nowhere near as big as 220lbs at 5'10 and yes Klitschko was most likely on roids as well.

For real, 220 at 5'10.... and chiseled... is extremely insane... I could train my whole life and barely get close.

Serious bodybuilding levels. Just insane/steroids or not... also factoring in how hard he trains in terms of cardio.

If I miss a meal... or dont train for a week I lose size.
