Was there a certain fighter that got you interested in boxing? If so, who?

Roy Jones was the guy that got me interested in the sport. I was amazed at his incredible talents.

Tyson. I think pretty much everyone of my generation and the previous generation who came to boxing came because of Tyson.

Tyson, roy jones and shane mosely for me.

The annoying thing was that when i just started to get into boxing we were in Las Vegas at the MGM and Roy Jones was fighting James Toney. We were actually offered tickets but because at that time i didn't really know who Roy Jones was, nor did i appreciate the magnitude of the fight, we decided to do all the tourist things and went and checked out the luxor instead!!!! :patsch :patsch :patsch

I'm still cursing such stupidity to this very day

I used to follow RJJ a tiny bit, but not too interested in boxing.

Then superstar locals Joachim Alcine and Lucian Bute got me in.

Then went to check PBF-Hatton and i was hooked(no pun intended)

I think if Gamboa starts to put together some amazing displays, he has the RJJ type of talent to attract new fans. It will be interesting to see what he does.

    DLH. 1992 Olympics.

Before that it was Leonard but I was little and didn't understand much but the showboating and popeye punches (winding the arm before hitting) which of course, a kid would love.

    Is that a bladerunner avatar?

Yes, I agree. But as for me, the first Tyson fight I actually tuned in to watch was the Buster Douglas fight. :|

I settled for the Nintendo version instead. :deal
