Tucker beats the breaks off Marciano. End of.

Marciano does not have the foot work or foot speed never mind the hand speed of Mike Tyson, not even close.......Tyson was extremely hard to hit clean, marciano you could not miss if you tried.

He went life and death with skinny Pensioners, was even knocked down in the process......and now to his dellussional nut huggers he is stopping Tucker who a prime Tyson and prime Lewis could not.......and Lewis fought the washed up coke version.

Tucker would be aching to fight a face first small short brawler who comes at you with no jab swinging for the fences..... a dream fight for him to look good, Marciano would never get by the jab, eats Tuckers upper cuts when occasionally he gets in, cannot deal with Tuckers foot speed, height , range and chin plus Tucker aint old, skinny or washed up, he is in his prime and can go 15 rounds no problem.

The whole thread is absurd, Tucker will white wash the little Italian until he stops the blind bleeding Marciano well between the distance.

Now some facts.......Wilder would send Marcianos head so far into the cheap seats it would be classified as Man Slaughter.

The Douglas who fell apart because he did not yet believe in himself, who’s own dad walked out on, is going to beat The Joe Louis who can still beat Jimmy Bivins, Lee Savold and Cesar Brion? GTFOH.

and Cesar Brion and Jimmy Bivins.

50-50 is not beating them. I pick Jimmy Bivins and Cesar Brion taking those guys, never mind Joe Louis in 1951

Norris, McCall, and Douglas were much better than any fighters Marciano ever fought. RM is one "champion" fighter that NOBODY ever tells their fighter to emulate. He looks terrible on video and his opponents look as bad or worse. The video from the Mayweather gym where they ask boxers and trainers their opinion of who would win between Andre Ward and Marciano should be proof of what people who know boxing think of RM. RM fought in an era of little talent in the heavyweight division, he would have no chance against Tony Tucker and would be 50-50 with a Ron Stander level heavyweight.

The depressing thing about threads like this, is that they so often break down on era loyalty.

So now Oliver McCall and Orlin Norris were better fighters than Joe Walcott and Ezzard Charles ? And Marciano’s proper match in the 70s would be Ron Stander?

Well I’ve gotten all the knowledge I need from this thread.... see ya..

A lot of assertions and assumptions, that you have zero evidence to back up.

The difference is on one side you have the camp who are as knowledgeable about both eras...versus a group who (aside from mcvey) know very little about the older era.

They weren't better than Charles, Walcott and Moore. Bigger but not better.

I think this may be a fight against a later-era fighter Marciano could actually win.

Tucker despite his size doesn't appear to have been a big puncher. Marciano might be able to take his shots.

Yeah whenever I seek boxing knowledge I seek out YouTube videos from the Mayweather boxing gym.

I was just informed in one fantasy match up there that GGG knocks out both Hagler and Hearns because he's way too big, good and strong for both. It surprised me too.

Also I find that the default response from the sweat hogs there to virtually any question is to answer Mike Tyson or Floyd Mayweather Jr (probably because that's about all they're familiar with).

The only guys there who know sh1t are Eddie Mustapha Muhammad and Dewy Cooper the rest are at best ignorant of any boxing knowledge pre-1986 or the BT era (before Tyson).

I don't think Holyfield is 6'2 1/2. He was consistently listed as 6'1 1/4 until moving up to heavyweight.
