Cut down to 201 pounds. You don't have the height to fight in unlimited division.

Why not become a boxer who can slug well and flesh out different aspects of your game instead of zoning in on one so early?

If possible depending on your physique, I would suggest on getting down to box at 91kgs. Learn to defend mate, longevity is everything in boxing. It's not about how many you can take but about how many you can avoid.

work hard. find what works for you. only you can do that. even with a trainer. eventually you must find the style for you. not trying to be a smart ass. this has been my experience both for myself and others. work the techniques hard. it should come to you. just as in the techniques that surface and you are best at. just as you realize a certain technique stands out as you excel at it, so should the approach in fighting. trainers of course. ultimately though you have to find the style that fits you best.

You shouldn't really pick a style. That will come naturally. If you are saying you walk around at 220 you should be able to get down to the amauter regular heavyweight limit of 201. Anything over 201 is super heavyweight and some big boys. Not sure how old you are but as someone that fought competitively I highly recommend you work with as many different trainers as you can until you find someone that you click with. Good luck.

    Basically this .

If you feel natural coming in a slugger fashion then come at a slugger fashion . be sure you know the risks of this style though

It can be risky .... But also very rewarding especially in your prime.

Why would you want to choose the least skilled of styles? That's a recipe for failure. You probably don't punch as hard as you think you do, and even if you do, why not work on being an all around boxer to give you a plan B and protect yourself from brain damage?

Work on the fundamentals, your "style" will find itself from there.

Ideally you can fight different styles. By Slugger I'm assuming you're going to take shots to give shots. That doesn't work against someone who hits harder than you and/or has a granite chin. Against a pure boxer who lacks power you're going to want to trade. Slugger style works best complemented by a granite chin.

You did say amateur where it's the number of punches over quality. Slugger if you can KO your opponent, otherwise you need defence or you'll get outpointed.

Use the style that will get the win.
