My vote goes for Floyd Mayweather (better legacy and pound for pound fighter

    Reasons
-Floyd fought tougher competition. First half of Tyson's career was against unknown tomato cans to boost his record and make him appear like a KO machine.
-Floyd is undefeated. Mike Tyson lost whenever he fought elite opposition (Holyfield Lewis etc). Floyd dominated elite opposition (Pacman, Marquez)
-Floyd has heart and fights til the very end. Tyson gives up easily and resorts to illegal tactics when things do go his way and when opponents are not scared of him
-Floyd has a wider range of boxing skills and techniques. Shoulder-roll, slip, counter etc. Tyson relied on his power most of the time.
-Despite breaking his hand midway through his career, he still managed to stay undefeated. This shows how good he is considering he is not a naturally gifted puncher.

To Mike's credit, Mike is way more exciting and hits harder and is more intimidating but in terms of boxing legacy I have Floyd lightyears ahead

Floyd, and it's not even close.

If Mike didn't have dedication and mental issues, and obviously the prison term, his legacy would be much better.

Floyd got caught in the biggest fight of his career with an iv in his arm. Along with catch weights and waiting until the perfect opportunity to fight certain fighters. There is a reason he retired 4-5 times throughout his career. Although he did fight and beat some great fighters he will not be remembered 100 years from now like Mike Tyson. Mike Tysons name and boxing go together.

You say floyd fought tougher competition than tyson because Tyson's best opponents were past prime. But isnt that the same thing with Floyd?

Define legacy? Mike is more memorable. Floyd had great skills and constructed a great undefeated record, but he avoided tough challenges.. Floyd will be higher ranked but Mike more remembered later on

For boxing fans, Mayweather has the better legacy. Historically speaking Tyson's legacy will span across generations for his in & out of ring antics, while an old Max Kellerman will be the next generation's Bert Sugar keeping May's legacy alive.

Bert Sugar? Sugar was a caricature more than an expert. I liked him. I met him once. Didn't really talk to him since so many people were around him, but I got to take a picture with him. He like publicity and taking about big fights and the typical advice.

Stop lying to yourself. Mayweather will always be remembered in the sport of boxing man. I see u are a Tyson fan, but let's not go over board with it. U do realize Mayweather has fought only one catch weight fight because he couldn't make 154lb. Mayweather also retired 1 time. Where did u get 4 or 5 times LOL I see the narrative here, but it's not working. Also, u are repeating what u have heard somebody say that he waited to fight certain fighters lol Who are these fighters he waited to fight? Cause most of them so called fighters were younger than Mayweather. So what since would it make for him to play the waiting game? As of the IV in his arm, it was already publicly reported in May of this year by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), that Mayweather applied for and was granted a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) by USADA for an IV infusion of saline and vitamins that was administered prior to his May 2 fight against Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather’s use of the IV was not prohibited under the NSAC rules at that time and would not be a violation of the NSAC rules today. Nonetheless, because Mayweather was voluntarily taking part in a USADA program, and therefore subject to the rules of the WADA Code, he took the additional step of applying for a TUE after the IV infusion was administered in order remain in compliance with the USADA program.

In terms of skill, accomplishments, money etc Floyd clearly has Mike beaten.

In terms of impact, has anyone even touched what Tyson did since? The man is an icon and always will be.
