Munguia is featherfisted and will get brutally ko'd at 160.

Oh For sure that possibility exists
& I’d have ggg as huge favorite for winning by decapitation could be a cash out fight.

But if kid Silverback makes it 12 rounds ... “WINNER”
the game will be rigged GBP judges, Vegas. The whole enchilada complete with Oscar blowing a position dart @ Golovkin from ringside & “winner” gets canelo lotto ticket.

yeah, I could see that too.

How you define "respectable power"? I don't see it. IMO he's featherfisted at 160 and his power for sure is on an average level at 154. Touching guys with a huge amount of clean punches and getting absolutely ZERO reaction (Hogan, Spike, Inoue) is not a sign of "respectable power". He's explosive, yes. But explosiveness unequal to power. I define "respectable power" like you hit a guy and he stops coming forward, riding his bike. I didn't see Spike riding his bike or at least focusing much more on his defence and the distance to avoid getting punched again. Spike was coming forward and ate those shots like delicious candy without any impact all night long and the stoppage was okay as Spike was tired as **** but not really hurt at all. The body shots slowed him down but not due to the power. It's the natural impact of body shots. So i don't count this as "power".

Of course he can stop guys, he can drop guys. Never denied that. But even a 5% KO dude can drop and stop guys. It's still boxing. Nevertheless, at 160 imo this guy has zero power and is totally featherfisted. He won't get a lot of stoppages there. Especially with his style loading up like a lunatic. I think there is a very high chance this dude getting KTFO soon IF he meets the right guy in the ring. If not, of course he can improve his record. There are as many bums and glass jaws at 160 Oscar can use to whitewash his record.

Yes he lacks one punch KO power.

Only lemiuex , Joe smith , & of course Wilder come to mind off top of my head but Wilder is a Heavy (most Heavies have that potential albeit wilder is king of the heavy handed atm)

but Munguía is a high work rate, high volume TKO by accumulation type of guy much like an Antonio margarito (but not as good) or Juan Diaz.

i would consider Juan Diaz “feather fisted”
    But not Antonio margarito.

He has never truly KO a guy, aka “put them to sleep” with one or even several shots.

but he has a high motor & with Erik terrible working on his technique he can become a TKO machine.

    Agree and disagree there.
He clearly has enough power to hurt guys. Otherwise he would have that 5%KO ratio.
I think it comes down to something you pointed out "Especially with his style loading up like a lunatic". Munguia just isn´t that good.
His power is OK and it likely won´t ever let him down. But his boxing IQ is just not there.

he is young, but he is Big kid.
Moving him up is ok if his body responds better as far as his stamina & work rate as that is his best attribute.

provded they don’t put him in with any belt holders anytime soon... like the OP said he likely gets KO’ed savagely!
I’m talking Fernando Vargas vs Trinidad style only in round 5 or 6.

Yeah, but if you look at the guys he has ko'd in the past, there are a lot of bums and clowns on his record, or just guys who are small and fighting at 147 regulary. Look at Sadam Ali. A great win on his record but overall poor win. 1. Ali is small at 154 and a natural 147 pounder. 2. Ali was stopped again recently. But yeah, i agree, he can hurt and drop guys as he's very explosive and can punch in a fluid way. I don't think he has any decent power at 154 and i think he has almost no power at 160. Of course he has no boxing brain. His corner tells him to avoid the brawls with Spike and he starts another one 30 seconds later. If you look at him, you might get the impression he's a bit dumb. Took too many punches to the head probably.

****, I actually forgot that he was huge at 154.

I still think he has a decent enough punch, but he has to stop relying on his heavy hands. Right now he is just outbrawling the smaller men and breaking them down.

Maybe he needs to get KTFO to change his style. Who knows. He already has a world class corner and team around. This dude probably just too dumb to understand he HAS to change it or he gets brutally stopped as he's fighting small guys for the weight right now. Put him in with a guy like Gabe Rosado. Rosado will make him pay for his arrogant brawling attitude. Rosado is big dude, can crack and comes to fight. Probably a much better and more dangerous version of Spike. And Spike landed an alarming amount of clean shots to his head.

Munguia is mediocre. GBP is conning people into the hype and GBP will soon cash out on him. He has to many holes in his defense and after moving up in weight he is lacking in power. His offense is also so so. When his power shot doesn’t phase the other guy he runs out of ideas.

not hating on the guy just an honest assessment.
