That’s part of what Manny said and he’s entitled to it. But that is not all he had to say about Rocky. I have met Steward. Manny rated Marciano. Angelo Dundee rated Matciano. Tommy Gallagher who trained champions is a huge Marciano fan also.
It would be foolish to accept his views on the Klits,Ward ,and Mayweather,not to mention,cut men and pad work! But common sense aint that common!

Why would it be foolish to accept those views? If you disagree it dosnt mean that it’s wrong. The cut man and pad work thing is just an opinion too. A good trainer/ second can handle cuts too and before pad-work there had been great fighters developed without using them. You can’t write off a great trainer because of this.
If you took the trouble to look through my posts you would find that I have many, many times called him a great fighter ,a great champ and a fine man,but you won't do that.All you'll do is pay lip service to that legend and talk drivel about how a 6'3" 215lbs fighter with an 80" reach an alltime great jab,among the three best heavyweight jabs of all time ,witha great uppercut and a lazer like right hand and an 80" reach is at a stylistic disadvantage against a slow footed 5'10" man with a 68" reach a leaky defence and a tendency to cut and 2 who is 30lbs lighter. And, after making such an asinine statement ,and being challenged on it you got struck dumb and your typing fingers suddenly seized up! Turner told the world pad work is bull**** the first exponent of Pad Work was Charley Goldman whom Turner claims trained him.Perhaps he did it via osmosis? I don't think Turner is a great trainer I think he is a great self advertiser. You accept without reservation his views ,[views I have never read any other trainer holding,] but dismiss Stewards a far greater more respected trainer with a record to prove it!
