I think FOTD doesn't only encompass boxing ring accomplishments, but also, the fighter's impact to the sport itself, i.e. he/she did the most in and for boxing in the past decade. (this is why Ali is the clear fighter AND athlete of the century that passed) And in that regard, it's very clear that Pacquiao should win back to back FOTD. However, having seen that he has been counted out, the next one should probably be Mayweather, if only because he defeated the real FOTD in Pacquiao, and put the sport of boxing in mainstream media. Canelo, minus the drug cheat plastered on his forehead, is the next one in line. Ward unfortunately, although his boxing achievements are great, didn't do enough to match the boxing fame that Pacquiao, Mayweather and even Canelo has or had.
