Based on what? Breazeale who doesn't move his head or Ortiz who still outboxed him until the KO? I don't see how he beats Fury.
He has improved his timing and from the looks of it he stopped throwing wild bolo punches. He uses his left to blind and lead fighters like Foreman use to do also. he's improved as far as being patient, timing his shots etc. have u ever been hunting? sometimes u gotta chill and wait for the deer several hours, sometimes for 2 days, until you get a clear shot. This is what Deontay is doing
You don't see how he beats Fury? Did you see Fury on his back in the first fight? Well he does that again just this time he makes sure he can't get up.
Giving him the benefit of the doubt. Experience always comes after a some title fights. He is hard to rate because of his opposition which is way below Tyson's in 1986-1990

You can spin it as patient and timing, I spin it as getting out boxed. The inability to do anything but use face blocking techniques, swing wild punches relying on his "power". All this 'power' but he couldn't put Fury down, the man with the questionable chin. Even a feather fisted cruiser weight put him down with a 30% KO ratio. When the man with supposedly the biggest punch in boxing history cant keep fury down, who's been wobbled multiple times, you got to start asking yourself questions. You could argue hes got this knock out record as proof of power, but when your fighting part time plasterers, builders, inactive fighters, what do you expect. Audley Harrison had 15Ko's in 19 fights till he stepped it up. Wilders first fight vs anyone of note and he gets a draw. Stopped bolo punching... what was the first thing Wilder did when Fury got back up. Swinging wild, couldn't hit him. Even gassed himself out when he was in the upper hand advantage with Fury ending the round in the better position... yeah wilder really improved Obviously I'm playing devils advocate here, but you can spin it how you want.
With all that training and the fights against Ortiz and Fury, Wilder has definitely improved but to an extent. The Ortiz rematch wouldn't be a good example of Wilders improvement as a boxer but I think the Stiverne rematch showed just how far Deontay had come. Will we see outstanding new skills? like Teddy Atlas was saying on this subject - no. However with experience comes improvement and Wilders made small improvements here and there IMO.
I don't think his technical abilities have really but the way he fights has. He has always lost rounds and still does but it feels like he doesn't bother trying to win them, just treats the fight as a 36 minute time frame in order to land his shot a few times. Which I think is probably the right thing to do for him
I think he's showed a bit more patience, ring IQ and general accuracy of late. But bear in mind he was starting from a very low base. Very Low.
Why do you give him credit for Stiverne? He wasn't a fighter of merit in the first dust up let alone the 2 year inactive one in the rematch. He showed us absolutely nothing in either fight. Steverne lost recently at even a commonwealth level, their are levels... Its like the fight vs brezeale, talk about pointless. You could argue... well Joshua fought him, but it was his 17th fight not 41st
