You gave Doug Jones huge wraps as a fighter Pat. Given he is about the same weight as Marciano and has height, reach and a huge class advantage over Marciano how would you see that one going?

I can almost hear the clanking and clonking of cogs turning within a head.

Pretty sure everyone knows he wasn’t a good trainer. Doesn’t take away from his wins and thag he was prime at the time. Marciano was the underdog for that fight and Layne was considered the most likely successor to the crown. I don’t get the revisionist history? He was a good fighter who could have been ranked a little higher historically if he had been a more enthusiastic about his training. But I suppose Layne doesn’t fit the narrative of old and out of prime...have to take him down a few notches some how right?

Goldman matched his fighter Cesar Brion with Layne, during the fight Goldman noted Layne was soft in the belly and vulnerable there, when the Marciano v Layne fight came up Charley said ,go for his body Cesar wasn't strong enough to do it,but target his belly and he will begin to fold. That's what Rocky did, he lashed shots into his midriff to bring his arms down and expose his chin.Rocky's adorers talk constantly about his ko of Rex,but they never mention the early body work he put into make it happen.

I don’t believe I mentioned how he knocked him out at all. But yes Marciano wasn’t a head hunter generally and would work the body. Layne wasn’t the best fighter ever but accomplishment wise he is a top 80 heavy easy. Would be ranked higher imo if he was more serious about his craft throughout his career.

Let's talk about those ,"three really good wins".
The Charles one was an outright robbery and Charles beat him twice in return.
The Walcott win was a very good one when for whatever reason , Jersey Joe couldn't get untracked.
What's the third very good win?

What are his accomplishments exactly, a win over an inconsistent Walcott and a robbery dec over Charles?
He's a smaller version of Arreola.

LMAO! Good one. If u think that's tough, over here there is actually something Mexicans speak it's call Spanglish. At first I thought it was an insult or joke, until I heard Mexicans bare witness.

They either start talking Spanish...then outta nowhere throw an English word in, or vice versa.

Kinda like when I watch De Boxeo, they are speaking in Spanish...then outta nowhere I hear one word I can recognize "Mi AMIGO DE' JAB DE' JAB!!"

It's funny as hell to hear. LIke U guys can't come up with a Spanish word for jab?

He’s got three or four real good wins. if You don’t like them that’s on you. He was a good fighter are you saying otherwise? Is he not a top 80 fighter ever? I don’t think that’s a stretch and neither would most rational people.
