Fidel Bassa vs Dave McAuley 1 Rd. Bass : Dave 1. 10 : 8 2. 10 : 10 3. 9 : 10 4. 10 : 9 (39-37) 5. 10 : 9 6. 10 : 9 7. 9 : 9 8. 10 : 9 (78-73) 9. 7 : 10 10. 10 : 9 11. 10 : 9 12. 10 : 9 ( This content is protected ) Bassa wins by 13th round TKO. This content is protected Every punch was thrown with the intention of taking the other's head off! It really is thrilling. Lots of action, high pace, an amazing 9th round and loads of mini momentum shifts. It was competitive than the 5 point advantage I had for Bassa ATOS indicated. Oh and just because I agreed to shout out him for picking the fight... @roughdiamond
Humberto González vs Michael Carbajal 1 Rd. Carb : Bert 1. 10 : 9 2. 8 : 10 3. 9 : 10 (27-29) 4. 9 : 10 5. 8 : 10 6. 10 : 9 ( This content is protected ) Carbajal wins by 7th round KO. This content is protected Fun fight, probably my least favourite so far though. Carbajal showing a lot of heart, but also certain stylistic weaknesses. Great come from behind KO.
Of the 4 I've watched I've so far. Not ever. I just prefered the other 3, the higher pace and more competitive nature make them more entertaining to watch imo. Especially Chang vs Tokashiki. That's my #1 so far
Carbajal v Gonzalez 1 Incredible comeback from Carbajal after getting dropped twice. I could have conceivably given Gonzalez every round but Carbajal just shaded a couple. Not that it mattered - scoring in this one is academic. 1 9-10 2 8-10 3 10-9 (close, but Carbajal edged it with the harder shots) 4 10-9 (close again, Carbajal with the bigger shots) 5 8-10 (terrific round) 6 9-10 (54-58) 7 Carbajal KO Gonzalez
Looks like this week really will just be the fab 4! No one else cares about the little men. If we all get done, which, to be honest, is looking likely, I'ma add 3 more fights to the front.
Fidel Bassa - Dave McCauley 1 Wow - how Bassa came back to win this I'll never know! He was out on his feet more than once and showed remarkable recuperative powers. The momentum in this one swung back and forth like a pendulum. 1 10-8 2 10-9 3 8-10 4 9-10 5 9-10 6 9-10 (should be 8-10 but ref didn't call legit knockdown against Bassa) 7 9-9 8 10-9 9 7-10 (incredible round!) 10 9-10 11 10-9 12 10-9 (terrific stuff again) (110-113) 13 Bassa TKO McAuley
Erren Torres vs Chartchai Chionoi I Round 1: 10-9 Chionoi (Torres outworked though he did land the best punches of the round imo) Round 2: 10-8 Chionoi (knockdown) (too bad because Torres would have won the round for me) Round 3: 10-9 Torres (great round for Torres, nailed Chionoi with the left hook & got inside blasting the body) Round 4: 10-9 Torres (hurts the champion early & wails away with every punch in the book till the bell) Round 5: 10-9 Torres (close, definite swing round. The better blows from Torres win this time for me) SWING Round 6: 10-9 Torres (the right to the body, left hook to the body left hook to the head combo was big for Torres here) Round 7: 10-8 Torres (hurt Chio by bad it appeared he might have gone down if not for the ropes) Round 8: 10-9 Chionoi (very close, could go either way imo) SWING Round 9: 10-9 Chionoi (good round for Chio who appears to be climbing back into the fight) Round 10: 10-9 Chionoi (Chio's right back in this fight, been a good one) Round 11: 10-9 Torres (big comeback round, Chio starts early well but gets caught & hurt & takes a beating the rest of the round) Round 12: 10-9 Chionoi (Torres picks up where he left off in the 11th and jumps all over Chio. Chio who eats leather but weathers the storm, until he catches Torres late with a beautiful 2 punch combination that hurts Torres. Chio finishes the round on the attack, another swing round, no problems with anyone scoring this one for Torres, but Chio landed the best punches of the round and actually hurts Torres) SWING Round 13: TKO Chionoi (round starts rather quiet, both men engage each landing. When the left eye that Chionoi cut on Torres back in the second round gets horrible. Arthur Merchante almost immediately waives it off but asks for the doctors opinion who agrees with the ref, and just like that the fight is over. Unfortunate way for this one to end, great fight that I had as close as is possible thru 12 rounds. But with 3 swing rounds I wouldn't argue with someone having either man in front by a point or 2) My Score: (113-113 Even) ATOS
Masao Oba vs Betulio Gonzalez Round 1: 10-9 Oba Round 2: 10-9 Oba Round 3: 10-9 Gonzalez Round 4: 10-9 Oba Round 5: 10-9 Oba Round 6: 10-9 Oba Round 7: 10-9 Gonzalez Round 8: 10-9 Gonzalez Round 9: 10-9 Oba Round 10: 10-9 Gonzalez Round 11: 10-9 Gonzalez Round 12: 10-9 Gonzalez Round 13: 10-9 Oba Round 14: 10-9 Oba Round 15: 10-9 Gonzalez My Score: (143-142 Oba) Fun fight, really picks up as the rounds wore on. Gonzalez hurt himself by waiting to long to get busy, only winning 1 of the first 6 rounds is a big lead to come back from in the seated champions backyard. No robbery here for me as I have it a 1 point win for Oba. For me the right man won a very close awesome fight, what a final 3 rounds & the 15th was the exclamation point!
Fidel Bassa vs Dave McAuley I Round 1: 10-8 Bassa (knockdown) Round 2: 10-9 Bassa (close) Round 3: 10-8 McAuley (knockdown) (was a 2nd one that looked more like a KD than the first but was ruled a slip) Round 4: 10-9 Bassa (close) Round 5: 10-9 McAuley Round 6: 10-9 McAuley Round 7: 9-9 Bassa (point deduction for using the head) Round 8: 10-9 Bassa Round 9: 10-7 McAuley Round 10: 10-9 McAuley (1 of the worst intentional butts I've ever seen with no point deduction) Round 11: 10-9 Bassa Round 12: 10-9 Bassa Round 13: TKO Bassa My Score: (112-111 McAuley) ATOS Not feeling well, I'll just say this was a really exciting fight.
