If Tyson Fury beats Deontay Wilder and never fights again afterwards where do you rate him all-time?

The thread is about retirement after just Wilder, so nowhere near at all. Beats Wilder, Usyk and Joshua and the thread has validity and gets interesting.

The UFC don't pay enough to make it worth Fury's while. He got more money from Vince McMahon than most UFC headliners make in 2 or 3 fights.

If he calls it quits, I could see him in the WWE or as a boxing commentator. He’s a funny and smart guy and very entertaining. He frustrates me with the clowning and years of self destruction and inactivity but the man can box when he needs to. I hope he shows up in good shape and puts on a boxing clinic against Wilder. Also hope he goes on to fight AJ and Usyk before he retires. If he does, he’s still not ATG but he’s got a shot at being the best HW if his era and to make a ton of cash. Not bad for a suicidal Gypsy who ballooned up to 400lbs or so.

He needs to fight AJ to secure his legacy.

nah, just 2 fights before facing Fury, Klitschko had one of his best KO's ever against an undefeated Pulev. he looked the best he ever looked against him... then again he looked amazing against AJ. Klitschko never aged. he always came in shape and ready.

Manny Steward said he was pretty special..

.. as for the question, he'd have held every title at HW which is fairly rare & would also be undefeated too.. he can also be credited with opening up the division & bringing the K2 era to an end.. hes fairly unique in terms of his movement for such a big guy too.. Id put him down as the best since prime Wlad & maybe even better depending on your criteria & WKs a cert for HOF status.. but im not so sure hes getting past Wilder this time as i get the sense he uses boxing as a bit of a tool to keep him on the straight & narrow as much as anything else, he seems to be constantly talking about other things he wants to do rather than boxing legacy.. is his heart really in it? Or is the whole fury thing just an exercise in self promotion & an audition for other things?

Why do so many Brit boxers start to have ”trouble training” and "staying motivated" and leaving trainers that apparently made them invincible, right around the time they get to fighting the legit best?

If he beats Wilder, he might as will go ahead and beat AJ & Usyk...both are a lower risk fights

Beating Wilder confirms him as the lineal champion and cements him as the current no 1 heavyweight in the World. But an ATG? No way as his resume is paper thin.

If Wilder KHTFO, I’ll simply have him going down as an awkward 6’9 clown who was in the right place at the right in beating a very unmotivated and subdued Klitschko who was coming off one of the worst winning performances of his career.

If he beats Wilder then he will have better wins on his resume than the Klitschkos and Sonny Liston, it's the inactivity and lack of depth that will cause many to have him outside the top 15 or 20.
