If Deontay Wilder beats Fury, then the whole Heavyweight division is cherry for the picking. Adam Kownacki is the next Undefeated contender that earned his shot, everybody will get it, no point of complaining If Wilder beats Fury, next comes the longest Heavyweight reign in boxing history...
Yes it was a cherry pick gone wrong. Out of shape, featherfisted fighter that didnt look good against Painetta. Haymon overestimated Wilders abillity. Wasn't the rematch in the contract according to Warre?
He's around 10 and 11 with Boxrec and Ring. By Wilder's standards that's pretty high. The big question I have about him relates to his training closely alongside Jarrell Miller and sharing some of that fighters stamina and workrate, which has subsequently been proven to come out of a bottle. Will the VADA testing period reduce his effectiveness?
How does Wilder besting Fury means the whole divison is cherry picking? Wilder would only continue his reign as champ if he continues to avoid the likes of AJ, Usyk,, Whyte, Parker, Hunter and Ruiz etc. There more derserving challengers than Kownacki. Whyte - Has the best win streak without getting a title shot in the history of boxing. Usyk - unified CW champion. Hunter - Beat impressive hyped prospect Bakole, a great amateur pedigree boxer Kuzmin and should of edged former WC in Povetkin. Pulev - Beating Chisora & Hughie since his title shot is more impressive than what Kownacki has done. Chisora - Coming off brutal KOs wins against Takam and spzilka. KOing Takam is more impressive than anything that AK has done. All the the above would be bookie favourites if they had a potential fight against AK.
Kownacki is being cashed out after Helenius. His handlers know it's only a matter of time before out of these routine cherrypicks backfires.
Lol..... I like Kownacki but let's be honest he kind of sucks. He's not exactly the poster boy for the new crop of promising HW talent. Old guard like Povetkin and Pulev are still more credible despite their age.
The Bumsquad PBC carousel continues. Kownacki fresh off that scintillating life and death struggle against the shell of Arreola's shot ghost is the next D level magnet for right hands head sacrificial lamb being lead to the slaughter, if Bootleg D manages to get by the 50% drug-ravaged shot cadaver of The Gypsy King that is. And the later is also coming off a life and death struggle himself against a pedestrian viking. But to be fair to Bootleg D he's coming off a six round schooling at the wrinkly arthritic hands of a senior citizen who despite his advanced age and poor health was administering a boxing lesson to him prior to his old lungs giving out on him and getting clipped.
The funny thing is Bootleg D and his bootlickers have often criticized the level of competition of his rivals. They think he's been fighting better comp than AJ This content is protected
Michael Benson corrected that autocomplete text error Wilder of course said that he'd been fighting 'Nothing but the oldest'
It's funny how a completely unsourced and illogical rumor can be all the red meat Wilder haters need to once again regurgitate their talking points. Bunch of lemmings.
If Wilder fights Kownacki after Fury, it's because Kownacki has picked up a vacant IBF title against Pulev. Pulev is rated #1 by the IBF. #2 is blank (which the IBF does). And Kownacki is rated #3. If Joshua vacates, Pulev and Kownacki will be right there. And Kownacki will be the sharper of the two, with a Helenius tuneup scheduled in March. And Wilder-Kownacki would be a unification.
