A publication date of October 20 20. By an author, Don Stradley, who just put out an Edwin Valero book I bought "Berserk". When it (Valero book) gets here I will read it and see if he is a good writer. Hope so.

I learned from it though of Monzon's personality and such. Enjoyed for a little book. VERY well written. And wasn't the last line so metaphoric for Monzon?

I still love Monzon even though he was a madman.

I don’t think he was mad (as insane). I think he was a cold-blooded killer and deserved his fate. Murder someone and get a furlough from prison ... and died in a car wreck on his vacation. Good for him.

I probably deadlifted more than Monzon. What a skinny twig.

Monzon makes Mayweather look like a class act.
Didnt he beat his wife to death?

If he had gone to prison in california with those crimes they would have housed him with boy toys and snitches for his own protection

He pushed her out a balcony. In Argentina we know stories about how he would get drunk and beat up waiters in restaurants well after his boxing career

He was a criminal and responsible for his crimes, but I personally don't think that's the right attitude to take on his death.

What’s the right attitude to take on his victim’s death?

He had a choice to get in a car and drive recklessly. Was she given a choice? Were the other women he beat? **** that guy.

His victim was a victim. Monzon was responsible for his own actions, but any death should be taken very seriously, depending on what one thinks about afterlife. Besides, there's no way we can know what Monzon was like when he got out of prison.

He was still ‘in prison’ from my understanding — still serving his sentence. But he got special treatment because he was a celebrity and was allowed to ‘check out’ for a furlough (which should never be the case for a murderer) and I’m glad his joy ride ended the way it did.

I’ve no sympathy and no pity for him. He got to choose to kill his victim. He got to choose to beat women. They didn’t get a choice. You want to feel bad for someone, start with them and end with them, not him. He took that choice from them. May he rot in hell.

I do not approve of men harming women but he is still one of my favorite champions, retired with his title, 14 title defenses.
