I kept hearing about his awesome power and Seals even did a interview last week saying after the Alvarez fight, he wants Beterbev on PPV, saying that the PPV would be explosive. Seals said that he has a special ring entrance in store for the PPV. What happen to Seals and why was he jawing with the official after the fight?
I guess a little, by a few people, but I'm still not sure how or why it even started. This was always fated to go down exactly as it did, IMO.
I noticed that too, and found it weird. He was a good puncher, but has basically feasted on cab drivers and had been KO'd by the one respectable fighter he'd fought. Hes also in his late 30s.
There was no hype for him. Maybe some after the Rodriguez brawl. Seals had power and a seemingly fun style, could have gone places. But he lived most of his pro career in obscurity and got KO´d twice now on the big scene. Solid LHW, but should never have competed against the best in the division,
If Seals won it would have ruined Elider Alvarez' boxing career. This was really just a tune up fight. it wasn't even close but but it was boring. Jesse Hart would have beat seals too.
i dont think so. after all, Alvarez was a huge favorite and never heard anyone singing praises About seals. he is what he is: a talented Puncher with a weak chin. nobody was calling him a future champ. i Always liked him. his fight with rodriguez was one for the ages. actually, i think he did rather well staying competative with Alvarez for so Long.
I dont even get why people called it competive people were giving seals rounds where he THREW less than 5 power punched and didnt land one. people were giving seals rounds where alvaraz landed 10 punches and seals was credited for 1 jab. the fight was boring and not even remotely close. it's just alvarez is a boring fighter this is how he's always looked aside from kovalev 1
The only overhyping I saw was from his promoter and those who had a vested interest in selling the fight.
No, he had a puncher's chance and that was it. No one thought he had some immaculate skillset, only that he was fair and has heavy hands. I didn't really see anyone overhyping him, he's just a likable guy who is easy to root for, so many people were rooting for him, including myself. But no one was shocked in the least at the outcome.
