when will he ? I'm not even interested in seeing a trilogy with Golovkin as Golovkin has aged.

When will Canelo fight a fighter who is

    *in his prime
    *not in vegas
    * no rehydration clauses

hopefully It is Callum Smith or Billy Joe Saunders with no rehydration clauses and not in vegas

I'd be watching both those fights. Might even attend.

Never. He will never go into a fight without an advantage. Judges, weight games, PEDs, illegal wraps, you name it. Too big to fail and protected.

Has Canelo not fought Danny Jacobs?
There's a **** load of forum members who were of the opinion Jacobs was the young prime fighter that was all wrong for Canelo.

Wait a minute, since Canelo beat Jacobs that just makes Jacobs second tier and overrated, so he doesn't count. Lol!!

Like who? What prime fighter is in a position to challenge Canelo that can make Canelo as much money for him outside Vegas? Who do you have in mind that you feel he is avoiding?

Austin Trout right after Trout handily beat Cotto.
    Floyd Mayweather near his prime.
    Alfredo Angulo
    Erislandy Lara in his prime
    James Kirkland
    Miguel Cotto
    Amir Khan
    Liam Smith
    Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
    Gennady Golovkin twice
    Rocky Fielding
    Daniel Jacobs
    Sergey Kovalev

That's Canelo's opposition in the last 8 years.
I would say that 8 of those 14 matchups were of the caliber where his opposition was of high caliber enough where there were plenty of boxing experts picking against him.

All this critique of Canelo's caliber of opposition, name me a fighter that last 8 years with a better resume???

    Pacquiao maybe??????
Since Pacquiao's KO loss to Marquez he's fought
    Brandon RIos
    Tim Bradley
    Chris Algieri
    Floyd Mayweather
    Tim Bradley again
    Jessie Vargas
    Jeff Horn
    Lucas Mathysse
    Adrian Broner
    Kieth Thurman

That's 10 fights in an 8 year span.
I would say going into those fights, only 3 of those fights going in were viewed by boxing experts as matchups where the opponent had a legitimate chance to beat Pacquiao. Those would be the 2nd Bradley fight, Floyd Mayweather, and Kieth Thurman.

Pacquiao's isn't a bad resume, but its certainly to me nowhere in the ball parks as Canelo's.

The ends don't justify the means. The journey matters too, not just the destination. We must have a different philosophy.

He will fight a guy like that when he's old, used up, and is looking for that last pay day. Oscar will then throw him in with his next cash cow for one big last payday.

May weather aside, in which one of those fights was Canelo an underdog? Wasn’t he an overwhelming favorite against Kov? Against tiny Khan he was a huge favorite. Same with Beefy, Kirkland, etc. I’m not saying Canelo isn’t good. He is very good. He just has had major advantages in his recent fights particularly. Jacobs had a hydration limit, Kov had a hydration limit, GGG fights were both in Vegas and he refused a third outside of Vegas. The list goes on and I didn’t even mention PEDs. He is a very good fighter who is even better because of the rules. I’ve never seen a fighter in recent history (maybe Floyd) who needs an advantage in every fight. He’s the opposite of Usyk. Usyk just goes to the backyard of any champ and fights at the designated weight. Going to LH and making a faded guy like Kov adhere to a hydration clause is a joke. Traditionally if you move up to fight a champ, you fight at his weight without any hydration nonsense.

I watch Canelo’s fights and admire his skill. Hope he stays at a weight class and unified without any diva clauses. I went from disliking him to almost being a fan. Probably getting soft in my old age.
