Atlas is not the answer. Ruiz's problem is lack of motivation. He has no motivation to train and get into decent shape. I don't care who his trainer is if they don't fix this.
Didn`t Ruiz`s trainer say AJ couldn`t box and jab? If he did time for a change, cause Ruiz didn`t have a clue how he beat AJ in their first fight and clearly didn`t study that bout to help him in the rematch.
Actually they might have gotten too buddy buddy or ruiz got too familiar with him to where Robles could no longer tell him the hard truth or get him to listen That's not to say ruiz would listen to anyone else but he may need a more aggressive personality as a trainer like an ann Wolfe or teddy atlas type
There's no outside fix for Andy. Either he will get serious about becoming a professional athlete or he will spend the rest of his life replaying that night in June. Which is fine, but he's capable of more.
Robles: - stated that AJ couldnt box and Jab. - stated that Ruiz lost a lot of weight during camp but didnt look or feel right so he instructed him to put weight back on.
Thats a more logical approach other than the emo keyboard killer mess that's written on here about this situation. Everytime a guy changes trainers guys get worked up on here.
Right, but isn't that what Atlas is known for? Being a great motivator? I don't care for Haymon at all, and I think overall he hurts boxing. But this is the right move, Andy needed to change things up. Atlas just may be that dude.
