Roy Jones was amazing. The question. Is how much do you dock him for PED use and was his chin as suspect at 160?

He won easily over Hopkins and Toney

It doesn’t matter if one of these wins came at 168. Toney and Hopkins should rate as top 20 all time middleweights.

I’d pick Jones over Ketchel and Monzon.

A top ten all time middle in my judgement. Roy’s speed, power and accuracy are tough to match at 160.

Jones' alleged chin issues didn't surface until a FULL DECADE after he left the middleweight division.... at the age of 35. That's not even part of the question.

His problem is depth of resume at 160. Toney was at 168. Many of this other best pelts were at 175.

160 or 168, Jones clearly beat Toney. I agree his resume at 160 could be better, but with Hopkins on it, how bad could it be?

Jones PED issues could have started much sooner. Well never know. Jones was so skilled he wasn’t really hit that’s hard at 160.

I tend to agree that his chin wasn’t a huge issue at 160. His hand speed, accuracy and power made his opponent gun shy about attacking and missing.

McCoy was a cheese champion who hid behind the No Decision law he defended the title successfully 6 times, in each one the NWS voted for his challenger but because they did not ko him he kept his paper title ,which BTW he should never have been awarded because he was over 160lbs when he won it, as he was when he lost it!
NB McCoy was only DSQ'd once in his career in 1912, 2 years before he won the title! My points stand!

Well,he does have Papp at number 5 all time which is pretty strange because he never achieved a ranking higher than number 4 in his own era!
