Holmes wins it by that same route and result as the previous conquerors of the Canadian did,...who weren't named Frazier or Foreman....by a points win...in Larry's case, a particularly punishing, lopsided points win...see his win over the much less able Tex Cobb for reference.
People picking Holmes to stop Chuvalo need to remember only 2 people stopped Chuvalo and Holmes power was hardly on their level. I agree Holmes win but he's gonna have to settle for a UD.
You may be correct, but I think Holmes' jab would slow Chuvalo down and open the door to Larry's combinations. I agree he wouldn't actually kayo George (neither could Frazier or Foreman -- Chuvalo hadn't been knocked down and was still standing when those fights were stopped), but IMO the accumulation of Holmes' punches would bust him up, turn him into a human punching bag, and likely force the referee to stop the fight similar to the outcomes with Frazier and Foreman.
McMurtry and Rademacher both boxed Chuvalos ears off. Holmes would dominate him and either win a wide decision or stop him on cuts/swelling.
But Holmes isn't going to lay against the ropes and accept them. I think Ali was trying to prove how macho he was, but in doing so he wasted a lot of time and energy when he could have been taking the offensive and doing Chuvalo damage. Holmes would have used his time against Chuvalo to better advantage.
what was controversial about either of Chuvalos stoppage losses? He quit cold in one and in the other he was in a corner getting hammered mercilessly without return.
true.. I watched the Foreman fight again and he was spitting blood and getting hammered. His own trainer pleaded with the referee to stop it... my bad
