Lopez has gained many new fans after his recent performance and the praise for the kid is at an all time high.

However, knowing how you boxing fans are, people will be quick to **** all over him claiming he was too inexperienced for Loma and not a credible challenger after Loma puts on a boxing clinic.
So even though Loma has the chance to capture all the belts in the division, this seems like a lose-lose situation for him.

I think Lopez is a dangerous opponent and I don't take him lightly at all, but if and when Loma wins, people will discredit it and his P4P status. I can just see it now...

I will only give Loma credit for taking the fight provided he gets KTFO. Otherwise, Lopez is only 22 year old baby fighter.

Just jokes, well considering Loma is at 135 and evidently staying there and there is no established prime or near prime fighter, these young up and coming guys are really all that's available. Deven Haney, Gervonta Davis, Teo Lopez etc. So Loma may as well just fight them. If he wins, he might not get the legacy of beating a prime fighter, but still it will add slightly to Loma's resume.

It's a shame Loma missed a few big fights at 130 and below as he went up weight divisions. Maybe he can still go down and take those fights. It's also a shame he declined the Pac Man fight.

A shame, but also a smart professional career move as Pac would have brutally retired him.

I feel a lot of people will denigrate his win and say Lopez is "green".

People always find a way to belittle wins after they happen.

    Thats just boxing these days.

Of course the Loma haters will not give him credit if he beats the younger but larger Teo. The usual suspects will immediately employ the “Salido doe” defense or the “why he duckin Manny?” Bull crap. Loma is serious about unifying LW. That’s his first consideration and priority. He’s not interested in fighting faded former legends or catch weight fights against MMA guys. He’s a serious boxer who wants to fight the best. He’s not stepping up to a heavier weight class to cherry pick a belt. I suspect he will drop down to 130 after unifying because he’s too small for LW and is fighting much bigger guys. Berchelt will be a great opponent at 130 if he stays there. I suspect he will go up to LW as soon as Loma drops down. He wanted no part of a Loma fight when he was at 130 the first time. Probably wants it even less now that Loma has more experience.

Boxing fans who slag Loma aren’t really boxing fans. I suspect they have another agenda that has nothing to do with boxing. They want to see young trash talkers fighting bums and protecting that zero. As long as they are willing to be suckers, promoters will continue to con them. Suckers.

    No they didn't.

They said Salido came in overweight, didnt try to make weight and spent a large amount of that fight hitting Lomachenko in the nuts.

    All of which are true.

There is no way boxing fans with the right mind won't give Loma any credit if he beats Lopez. After he beats Commey with TKO, he is now a legit champion of the division, unlike Haney who shamelessly claimed to be one when he beats nobody to get his belt.

Of course, vice versa, as huge admirer of Loma and his beautiful style and rich technique of boxing, I must give the same credit to Teofimo should he manage to beat Loma through his power and might, though how painful it might be. But that's boxing. I'd rather see Loma to be the man of his word and fails trying in his quest of unification than bragging to be the best while making excuses and ducking people like that coward Tank Davis did.
