Exhibition at cruiser against kickboxer Jorge "Acero" Cali, and if he does well Chino has said he's going to come back for real.

Well later on they seemed an issue and I'm a believer that fighters should always been training to a certain degree whether they have a fight coming up or not.

Oh wow. Well, hopefully he does well enough and has high motivation for when he returns for real.

    • They might seem like they were an issue later for two reasons. Number one, because it doesnt matter how much or how hard you train in camp, if you are entering that camp in abysmal shape, than as you get older and do that enough times, its gonna show come fight time. There were training camps where Im sure he gave all he could, but it didnt matter, because the state he entered cano was to a degree that was impossible to turn around in that timeframe.

    • He wasn't able to run properly due to his bulged disc... it limited a lot of what he could do as time went on after the Hoya fight. Hard to be in the shape you should be in when you cant fully commit to the workouts the way you should.

    • Yes absolutely, I agree. It was his in between camps lifestyle that hurt him the most.

We're on the same page here. It's not his camps that were the issue but inability to spend much time in the gym when not in camp that I was getting at.

I thought Hatton using his camps as part fat camp part fight prep was equally mad.

    Agreed.

Exactly... Hatton was on my mind when I was writing my post. He epitomized this as well. Not sure how such warriors like Vargas was let themselves get so out of shape between fights, knowing full well it will likely hurt their performance.

Michael Bisping fought half his career and all the elite fighters in both of his divisions in the UFC literally blind in one eye. No quit in that guy

This is exactlly right. I think this hurt Hatton a lot. Instead of tuning his game, working on specific things to prepare for his next opponent, a lot of time and energy had to go into weight loss.

Losing a bunch of weight too rapidly can result in weakness. It often does.

When I think of guys who had long productive careers, guys like Hopkins, they were always in shape. They were disciplined even between fights.

Guys who party are eat to much between fights tend to not last as long. Hatton. Mayorga. Kovalev.

Takes a toll on the body in a sport where even the smallest advantage matters.

Try boxing with plaster of Paris in your hands!!! Skit just wrapping your hands different affects you let along putting plaster in there!

Remember one thing When you only tell the truth you dont have to change your story. Just because you dont like it doesnt matter . I'd face to face with Richardson anytime . I tried asking him about the "plaster blocks" he hadnt got the decency to answer just slunk away.
You fake boxing addicts can go on worshipping the cash cows & steroid freaks all you want I'll carry on supporting the real FIGHTERS!!. One they couldnt legitimately beat so they had to railroad him.
