Countdown to Keeler v Andrade. Let's hope Luke can do better than Andrades previous opponents, who spent their time swinging and swiping at shadows while getting picked apart by Andrades counters. Can Luke apply clever pressure and impose his strength on Andrade? Luke and Pete are no dummies, they will surely have a strategy. Only question is has Luke got the ability? It's a huge ask. No one expects him to do well, he's being written off. For me Luke is better than Spike or Jason, but Andrade is a whole other level.
Lukes last opponent was a huge step up also, and we know how that finished. Let Andrade over look Luke as he appears to be doing, it could be his undoing. Luke punches a lot harder than his record suggests, I wouldn't be surprised to see an Irish KO victory.
I think luke will go in with a plan of controlled pressure. Where he controls the cente but doesn't necessarily walk into Andrades counters. This could lead to a frustrating night for the champion that likes to look good and this tactic would slow the pace and make the fight somewhat scrappy.Lukes best chance I believe.
He needs to concentrate on the body...a target he can hit... Also make it rough in there, ignore the ref...use his strength. And spend a fair amount of time on the back foot, mix it up. Luke boxes well on the back foot. Don't just follow Andrade around.
We need to see Luke keep his hands up and not stand tall and stiff lie he did against Arias. No loading up on big right hand head shots, fresh air shots that miss and get him picked off too easily by Andrades slick speedy counters.
I just hope @lukekiko keeps putting it on Andrade and doesn't let him take his rests each round. When I've seen Boo Boo he seems to want to do just enough to bank the round and then he retreats and see's it out and conserves his energy. I hope Luke takes it to him and hopefully takes him somewhere he doesn't want to be. Munguia? The guy who legitimately got beaten by little Hogan? What exactly is special about Munguia, who is most famous for beating a WW in Sadam Ali. I also couldnt care less what "opinions" on this thread amount to.
You have to care about the weight of opinion. It's just not sensible to ignore so many people making the same point. What are you saying, that they're all wrong? No. Munguia would be far too much for Quigley. I'm not blind to Munguias faults. I know he looked awful at times at 154. But he is growing, maturing and developing at 160. He would give Jason a career shortening, if not career ending beating.
Nope. I don't. Munguia couldn't give an old Spike coming off a brutal KO a career ending beating, he couldn't give little Dennis Hogan a career ending beating. Hes not giving Quigley one.
