Since Floyd is making his fourth comeback this year maybe he will step up to the plate and fight a prime undefeated world champion as Pacquiao just did. Crawford would be a good start. Let's see if Floyd can send Crawford somewhere. Crawford has fought absolutely nobody and his name has no business being mentioned along side Cotto's. Thurman has a much better resume than Crawford does.
No one's talking about Armstrong, but you seem to think that Pac's 7/8 divisions isn't special. If the feat isn't that special, when do you think another fighter will come along and repeat it? I don't think it happens again. Ever.
How quick people forget. I recall watching the British broadcast of the Pacquiao Barrera fight, the commentators after the stoppage called it one of the best performances ever witnessed in the history of boxing. And then against Cotto "I would have to call him an ATG, from 112 all the way up to Welterweight he's fought the best and not ducked anyone".
Well go on, make a thread asking about Cotto's abilities at Welterweight. I guarantee you people will call him a very top notch Welterweight. Do you realize Cotto is going to make the HOF with ease?
For sure. I remember being upset over that fight. Pacquiao was up and coming and ended up destroying Barrera who was one of my favorite fighters.
He also dwarfed people at 112 stop acting like he was the size of victor darchinyan at fw and moved up to ww just stop.
In May 2004 Manny Pacquiao after just capturing the Featherweight title in his previous fight decided for some reason to defend his titles against 30 year old ATG Juan Manuel Marquez. For no other reason other than having balls of steel. There isn't a single fighter alive with the type of self belief and determination to make a voluntary defense immediately like that. Manny and Marquez fought to a draw, though a judges error prevented Pac from getting the decision.
He's 5'5" which is tall for Flyweight, but it's not like you don't see Flyweights that tall. He's the same height as Ricardo Lopez and Inoue. Pac is shorter than Donaire. Donaire tried to rise up the weights, but when he made to 126 he was squashed by the size of and power of Nicolas Walters. And Walters was just some random guy, I mean he's good, but whatever, nothing too much.
It's a secondary point, not the main deciding factor. It's rare for an average champ to make the HOF.
Crawford would beat the dog **** outta Thurman it would be funny to watch him run around the ring looking for a place to lie down. Btw pbf if he comes back will be coming back for 100 million dollar plus paydays against MMA fighters. You know those kind of fights the same ones that pac is chasing with McGregor.
In the span of less than 18 months Pacquiao fought 3 ATG's. In less than 24 months he won 4 different titles in 4 different weight classes.
