Let's see if the GGGirls can contain themselves. Canelo and Golovkin are two fighters are about a decade apart in terms of age. What Golovkin has on his side is that he turned pro very late in his life, and has had a relatively easy career minus the last three years, fighting nearly less than half the rounds Canelo has fought. Okay, so first we have to establish when was it that Golovkin was peaking in his career, and when Canelo was peaking. Personally, For Golovkin, I feel his peak was between the Lemieux fight and the First Canelo fight. (I think that that fight with Canelo took a lot out of Golovkin) For Canelo, I think he hit his peak against Jacobs, and is still Peaking. He's been an elite fighter for a few years now, and prime since the Cotto fight imo, but he has now hit his peak and it will be interesting how long he will be able to stay at this level. My guess is maybe two more years max, then we will see signs of his starting to slip. Peak for Peak, I don't see what Golovkin could do to beat this version of Canelo. Canelo is more elusive than ever, hit harder than ever, is very past, does not seem to tire as he doesn't waste many punches or waste a lot of energy. But of course, this is my opinion, what are you guyses thoughts on Peak vs Peak.
Canelo style is what Marquez style was for Pacquiao , Canelo at his best peak beats any version of ggg.
I think that was when he entered his prime. He still lacked world level experience, and elite pro training. He was definitely prime, but I wouldn't call it his peak.
Plus canelo truly learned a lot in the school of Mayweather all jokes aside. It raised his game...that tends to happen when you fight better competition you can’t help but to become better yourself in the process.
To me, I saw a damn near peak vs peak, in their first fight. Id say they both were a bit aways from their absolute best, with G being a bit past his... and Canelo shy of his. The difference there is that while they both might have been just outside their best, theres simply no avoiding the impact that age has on a fighter... and Canelo simply had that physical edge on G. So ultimately, to me, I saw a matchup in their first fight that was not quite (with slight edges to Canelo in youth) but close to even in terms of them being close to their peaks. And Golovkin unquestionably already won that, to me. Increase boths level a bit more, to their peaks, for a fantasy matchup at their best and I dont see things changing all that much. Golovkin UD 7 rounds to 5. Imo.
Lol... Peak is not fighting at the full MW limit for the first time. Acclimating is a real thing in boxing. GGG took a nice beating in the rematch too. When the KO puncher gets Out landed in power punches and punches to the body, you know he lost
