I think it's way over the top. He made a few stupid comments as a late teenager.

He was defo calling Liverpool fans murderer's. That's obvious going by his other tweets about them in the same time period. However, those quotation marks have gave him a lifeline. He will use that to his advantage.

Why are people so sensitive, who cares what umar has said in the past.

I'm a Liverpool fan, couldn't give a flying feck what any non Liverpool fan has to say about Liverpool fc and its fans.

We are going to win the league, suck a ****.

Besides, who hasn't said horrible stuff before and contradicted themselves.

    Get a grip.

If I remember right the last Fury IFL interview about 2 weeks ago was conducted by none other than Umar, hopefully he gets to do the next one as well. Fury being as bipolar as he is there’s probably chance he might see the funny side to this.

It’s the Hillsborough stuff that’s the killer for him given how many matchroom/MTK shows are done in Liverpool, he will not be warmly welcomed back to the city if he’s there again.

That being said I think they are being a touch over dramatic with their statement, get some perspective it’s boxing YouTube channel and not getting anymore interviews off Anthony Fowler is something to be celebrated not mourned.

Exactly, imagine pretending we haven't all said stupid **** even worse than Umars tweets. Just cause we didn't put it on twitter doesn't make us more virtuous.

As I stated above this post, it was a tongue in cheek comment and I thought we were just discussing Liverpool fans and not the people of Liverpool as a whole.

For what it's worth my nan lived next to a family of Scousers for over 30 years, and I mean a family, 7 in a 3 bedroom house until the kids got older. I used to joke with them all the time about them mugging me and nicking car stereos for dinner money, it was just banter between kids. My dad got on with the dad of their house, even though he was an absolute wrong un and played up to the stereotype perfectly, a lovely bloke underneath it all but just a loon, never seen so many people at a funeral when he died, even then the jokes were cracked. Obviously what I posted on here earlier ended up not just being banter and although I did say that the policing and everything else was terrible at Hillsborough, the whole thing was a mess, and I stated that innocent people lost their lives the only thing I suggested was the link with football crowd trouble and it being Liverpool given the high numbers of fans they notoriously took to away games, which of course the police should have known about. I didn't joke about people dying, I certainly don't think that Hillsborough was funny and something to joke about and I have done a lot of reading up on it being a one time huge football fan, I'm not just jumping in saying Liverpool fans are to blame and that they're all hooligans, a section of them certainly didn't help matters on the day though.

I can accept that in hindsight my post could have been better worded and I can see how it came across very badly, I certainly don't think the people of Liverpool or even a relatively sized proportion of them are Bin Dippers though, but some of the football fans, some, yes, but that's just football fans and every club has them, Liverpool just got a bit of a name for themselves though which is why there's a stereotype, it's not just dreamed up for fun, stereotypes generally occur for a reason.

    Grade A ****.

Anyone defending him is too. If it was about anyone else but Scousers there would be massive faux outrage.

As a footnote it is grim that people are digging up old tweets, any employer nowadays should reset the employees social media to avoid any controversy.

PS don’t bother tagging/replying to me trying to defend it. You won’t get a response, Unless you’ve had family directly affected by what happened and therefore what’s been said you haven’t got a clue how I feel.

Is it even going to be safe for him to do this job now? No doubt he has p**sed off a lot of professional scouse fighters. Wouldn't be surprised if one of them sparked him on sight.

If he was working for a reputable company in another industry he would have already received his P45.

How Kugan deals with this will be a reflection of him as a person and boxing as an industry rather than anything Umar has said or done.

Considering Kugan called Bernd Bonte a dwarf C*** and told him to suck his **** I fully expect Umar to be promoted to head of public relations at IFL.

    Very difficult one.

On one hand, you have to take into account his age at the time and the presumption he's grown up from when he sent those tweets.
On the other hand, the things he said were very bad and in the public eye like he is his position perhaps becomes untenable.

I think it's particularly difficult for IFL here because in Liverpool obviously the Hillsborough disaster hits close to home. I notice Anthony Fowler has laid the marker down saying he won't interview with IFL whilst Umar is there. I think other Liverpudlian boxers will follow suit now the precedent has been set. In that instance it probably makes sense for IFL to let him go, not worth the hassle really. He's no Paxman anyway.

I did find Kugan's 'statement' amusing though. Clearly writing like that doesn't come naturally to him!
