Just throwing out a few comparisons
Ken Norton 5-5 (3 Knockouts) vs present top ten list
Duane Bobick 2-2 (2 knockouts) Ring did not rank John Tate , till after he Ko'd Bobick, WBA had Tate at no.4 going into the bout.
Ali's top ten / Champs record of 32-5 with 20 knockouts, is still unreal, he just went up and down the lists!

Cool. Can you do Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe and maybe John Ruiz as well?

I'll try Sangria, its tough to get the monthly ratings of the more modern times, as crazy as that sounds-its true!
it would have to be Ring. And I'll try to give it a go.

Muhammad Ali beats 32 top ten/Champions in his great career. So far I cannot come up with another heavyweight with more. 32-5 (was 32-3) and with 20 knockouts! so he's 24-0 against the rest of the pack.

"Smokin" Joe Frazier was 10-4 (w/7 knockouts) vs Ring Magazine lists. With 2 losse's apiece to Ali And Foreman, nothing wrong with that.

How on earth could Jersey Joe Walcott be rated the Ring's number-one contender in 1947, but the NYSAC didn't want to sanction the first fight and originally wanted it to be an exhibition because it was considered such a mismatch?

Where was Walcott rated in the National Boxing Association ratings before he fought Louis? Anyone know?

    Here ya go, Dubblechin -

As I understand it, the NBA only released quarterly rankings at this time and they separated them in to three categories, as shown below.

    Before Louis - Walcott I:

    NBA - September 12, 1947

    Champion: Joe Louis

    Logical Contenders: none available

    Outstanding Boxers:
    1. Jersey Joe Walcott
    2. Elmer Ray
    3. Olle Tandberg
    4. Joe Baksi
    Honarable Mention:
    1. Tami Mauriello
    2. Joey Maxim
    3. Lee Q. Murray

    After Louis - Walcott I:

    NBA - December 30, 1947

    Joe Louis, Champion

    Logical contender:

    1 Jersey Joe Walcott

    Outstanding boxers:

    1 Olle Tandberg
    2 Elmer Ray
    3 Joe Baksi
    4 Joey Maxim

Walcott was listed as the outstanding challenger in April and while in September they listed no logical contender but named Walcott as the first in a list of outstanding boxers.

According to my count from the above, Ali has 23 wins against guys in the top 5 (including the champion) and Joe 21. Those are outstanding numbers. Must be up there with anyone in any weight class.
