Liam Smith vs Kell Brook ...PPV?

I think Darch is a tough test for him! Tom Little too.

 

How many sales does a PPV have to do to make more for the fighters than a regular SFN.

My guess would be that 30k breaks them even and everything after that is extra cash. From that perspective no fighter who can shift those numbers has any incentive NOT to do PPV.

 

That's what I was thinking, but if he has anything about him he should be getting rid of Darch and then moving on to a fight with Little that could be strangely entertaining.

 

I am sick of Hearn thinking its the publics obligation to set his fighters up with a retirement fund...!!!

If he had managed Brook correctly he would have made a fortune when the 147 division was the hottest around.

We are going to end up with 4 or 5 ppvs in as many week this spring because the likes of Dillian Whyte 'cant be expected to fight for 400k '

 

Sky usually want a minimum of 150k buys to break even on PPV. They keep half, Matchroom gets half of the twenty quid. Brook/Smith would be cheap to put on as a main event so it could be less buys to break even.

 

If Hearn or any promoter for that matter can put on a show that pays everyone involved more, why wouldn’t they do that?

Boxing fans seem to think fighters should take less money out of some bizarre ‘do the fans a favour’ reason. You could apply that in almost any business but it’s just not how they work.

 

Fights with any fake beef, Liverpool Beefy, cartoon boxthing, IBO Title fights, fights 10 years past sell by date, slightly competitive fights, you are a tube bragging rights title fights, non title fights and even 100/0 non events are PPV these days.

We have seen examples of them all over the past 5 years on what is a shameless list of PPVs.

The only criteria used now is if the PPV mugths keep on giving, Eh Day Earn and the fighters will keep on taking.

 

That point was reached 4 years ago mate.

We are now at the point where any fight has a chance of PPV mate.

 

Sky need to remove all those PPV slots

Allen wins this unfortunately. Darch hasn't had a win since 2016! Darch can't punch with power and will be in survival mode from round one. Don't begrudge the fella a payday but it's the Allen bandwagon after the fight that will wind me up !

Darch is pointless even Dave should beat him fairly easily.

 

Darch hasn't won in nearly 4 years and 8 attempts, he's been stopped in each of his last 6 fights. This is blatantly a tune up fight for him to face Ali or Little, I'd love to see Allen in with Kamil, I reckon he'd lose.
