Louis Marciano Johnson Dempsey & Charles all stop Tyson within 15. Louis in 4 rds. Marciano in 7. Johnson in 14. Charles turns the tables in 13 and Dempsey does it in 1! I think Liston in 3. Foreman in 1. Smokin' Joe eats his heatt out of his chest and puts baby mikey to sleep in 6. Yes! A true frontrunner and gutless bully. Tyson would have been the one afraid against these guys. Tyson fans wish soooo badly that he was tough like Holyfield, but he just was not. Evander ended up being everything Tyson nuts wanted Mike to be and is the epitome of the words warrior and savage.

Didn't watch it live & read the result on teletext the next morning & I was ticked off to say the least because the Holyfield match was signed for June & I was fired up for that one. It was an absolute shocker obviously but it put a shot of adrenaline into the division & opened it up. Now we knew that Tyson, although a great fighter was beatable like everyone else & any future fights looked a lot more interesting.

I thought Tyson was unbeatable (in my defense, I was 12) and I heard about it the next day and didn't believe it. It took a photo in the papers the following week for it to actually sink in.

I was 13 and watched it live on TV in the UK, I was stunned and wondered why Tyson looked so lethargic, the next day our English teacher ws showing the front page of each newspaper and was furious that 'some boxing match' knocked Nelson Mandela off the front pages of certain newspapers the following day, it was the day Mandela was released from jail, that`s how big a shock that fight was, another headline ran both stories on their front page with the connecting headline: down and out, showing Tyson laying on his back and Mandela walking out of prison.

Tyson/Douglas may have been on the front page with a small picture, but no major paper did not have the iconic Mandela walking out of prison picture as the main story.

This was a little in part because the fight was in Japan so the papers with Tyson/Douglas, were showing news nearly 24 hours old.

Also you watched it live in the UK? On what?

Tyson Would DESTROY Wilder. It wouldn't be a fight but a mismatch. The only way I see Wilder POSSIBLY having a chance against Tyson would be the version Lewis fought, whom was completely done, and was only a "Big Name". But even that version of Tyson possibly defeat Wilder. Wilder can't fight... That simple.

Much as I hate to admit it, I give Wilder little to no chance against Tyson. I'd be rooting for him to prove me wrong though.

I saw it live in my basement. I screamed when he went down “ get up!! “. Douglas fought a great fight that evening but I still don’t think Tyson was well prepared or that his corner was managing him ideally.
