The fights were endless. We had:
    V. Klitschko vs L. Lewis
    Gatti vs Ward 3
De La Hoya vs Mosely 2
    RJJr. vs A. Tarver
    J. Toney vs V. Jirov (unbelievable cruiser weight war)
    W. Klitschko vs C. Sanders
    M. Pacquiao vs MA Barrera
    RJJr. vs J. Ruiz (heavyweight)
    P. Spadafora vs L. Dorin (another brutal war)

    What a year it was.

RJJ wasn`t very good v Tarver, the Ruiz fight was boring, Lewis was really ragged v Vitali, Wlad hadn`t been smoothed out by Steward yet.

Fighters in 1982 were quicker than in 2003, they were killers.

Boy, you wrong as hell. 2003 ain't even the year of its own decade.

    2007 gave us:

    • Israel "El Magnifico" Vázquez Castañeda vs. Rafael Márquez Méndez I & II
    • Joseph William Calzaghe vs. Mikkel Kessler
    • Sakio Bika vs. Jaidon Codrington (not as epic as Izzy vs. Rafa nor as technical as the super middleweight unification, and fought far below the skill level of both - yet this Contender season finale was an underrated gem... and I was there, fifth row! :))
    • Michael Alan Katsidis vs. Graham Earl
    • Fernando Montiel Martínez vs. Luis Meléndez Álvarez
    • Jermain Taylor vs. Kelly Robert Pavlik I
    • Oscar de La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
    • Cristian Ricardo Lucio Mijares vs. Jorge Armando Arce Armenta
    • Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs. Richard John Hatton
    • Librado Andrade vs. Yusaf Mack
    • Ruslan Shamilovich Chagaev vs. Nikolai Sergeevich Valuev

...and more I'm surely forgetting. It was a special time. Great mix of 'big events' and barn-burners that would hold up in any era.

2003 was nice, unmistakably - but twas no '07. :nono:

Being 35 goin on 36 yrs old, I was born in '84, so I respect people's choice for the 80's. Growing up, I watched replays of the 80s and by the 90s I was off. The Hearns, duran, leonard, haglar, sanchez, tyson, evander are all very much respected by me. Evander is proly my all time fav. Which is why when you said '86, it reminded me of when in 1986, evander won his first world title at cruiserweight vs Qawi. And Tyson becoming the face of the heavies with a KO of Berbick. 2003 jus hit home with me cuz I was 18 19 yrs old and jus at the peak of my love for the sport and watching those fight gave me goosebumps. Still do today. Toney vs Jirov was a classic. Lampley and Steward called a gem
