In your opinion which was more devastating? Golotas knock down with Tyson? Or Holmes' one with Shavers? This content is protected This content is protected
Holmes' KD was result of one of the most devastating punchers of all time landing his bread and butter punch, perfectly on the button. The Tyson KD was good, buttttttt not that good. I've seen it 1000s of times and I'm still shocked Larry got up.
Any other heavyweight, apart from maybe Ali, who had been hit like that from Shavers and gone down like that, would have still being recovering an hour or two later. The Shavers Kd was a nuclear blast bomb!
Tyson broke Golota's left cheekbone with that punch, concussed him deeply and dislocates one of his vertebras. Golota survived but he retired while his crew and the audience wished to continue fighting. Heard few people talking about that stunning punch.
Shavers knocked down an ATG, Tyson knocked down Golota. I remember Reg Gutteridge saying Holmes had the best recuperative powers he'd ever seen on a heavyweight, this is a good example of that.
I think Shavers hit Ali even harder. Watch the fight and watch those right leads almost take Ali's head off. I not only think Shavers won the fight, I think he beat Ali into punch drunkenness with those constant, whiplash, pile driving rights. They were perfectly time to walk Ali into them. Hardest punches I ever saw.
This is the kind of drooling asskissing post that leads people here to think that shavers was the most over rated puncher in history. Get a grip on reality Ferguson
No no no. Golota was right to quit with an injury like that. If I had been in his corner, knowing about that, I would have thrown the towel.
After the bout Golota was hospitalized with a broken cheekbone, a deep concussion and the dislocation of a vertebra. Many think that match was a farse because he got up after that KD. Instead I think he did the best thing to go away.
Yeah and I don't believe it, just a made up story to try and save face. He quit like a dog when he was starting to get in to the fight.
