Who was the best at overcoming a height and reach disadvantage?

I'm going to say Qawi. It's one thing to be short in a lower weight class but to be 5'6 at LH and CW is another thing altogether.

Qawi is an excellent mention. Tyson should be a staple here.

Yep, that was my choice from the fighters I have seen in my life time.

Tyson also springs to mind as does Duran.

The Barbados Demon Joe Walcott is the historical fighter I immediately thought of.

    Cheers All.

I can say with almost certainty that Qawi never fought a shorter man than himself.

I can only think of one guy that Tyson fought that was smaller than him and that was the 5'9 Orlin Norris.

No one else is going to say these, so Alberto Davila and Miguel Canto. Neither had big power or strength to negate their small sizes, just had amazing pure, learned skill that let them dominate bigger men, especially Canto who was an absolute pint sized midget, yet very arguably the No1 Flyweight ever.

Fighting Harada should also be mentioned. 5'3, ripping through ATGs in 3 weight classes with the amazingly destructive jab, Kamikaze work-rate and footwork of his.

    Probably Barbados Joe Walcott.

He was giving up height and reach even against other welterweights.

Sam Langford also deserves a mention.

In modern era underrated Montell Griffin deserves a mention. Like Bowe his career
suffered after parting with Eddie Futch.

I thought Futch only left after the first Golata fight because he thought that Bowe was finished? If thats the case then Bowe was in decline even when Futch was his trainer.

A.Pryor was generally shorter than most opponents.
