Warren needs to pack it in if he cant pay people No excuse for such nonsense esp when he now associates himself with BT who surely think he is an unwanted throwback by this stage
Meanwhile the Matchroom money seems to be spreading nicely, I really like Joe but he's not really done anything yet This content is protected
Would like to say I'm shocked but I'm really not. Remember when the purse bid was lost by matchroom but Hearn isn't an idiot who overpays to win unnecessary purse bids. Warren blew his load for that fight. One can hate Eddie but you never hear stories from fighters complaining about not being paid.
Disgraceful. IBF should ban Frank from bidding on any mandotories if he isnt paying fighters in full. BBBoC should take his licenses of him but they wont.
So by my reckoning we’ve had: Sports Network - Bankrupt Frank Warren Promotions - Bankrupt Queensbury Promotions - Soon to be bankrupt I wonder what the next incarnation of the company will be called.
I'm not a fan of FW, never really have been but before we all get sued.. we don't know what the truth is but let's assume what Hearn said is true. Maybe some of you more educated posters on this subject can set me straight. Anyway, At what point does a promoter get stripped of his promoters licence? How can the BBBofC keep letting this go on? I'm talking out loud here so to speak but.. Maybe it's legal and the BBBofC rules, if FW has found some sort of loop hole type situation where he draws up the contracts in certain ways then it might be difficult for the BBBofC to get involved without leaving themselves wide open to legal action? I'm not sure but if true and another fighter isn't getting what they signed for or assumed then this isn't the first time this has been alleged and surely this is against some sort of rule and certainly against the law. Wouldn't it be better, cleaner and more transparent if the BBBofC had new rules, or maybe changed existing rules and protected fighters and everybody else involved. Because let's get it right here, if a fighter isn't getting paid then neither are trainers, cut men, gyms, sparring partners (in some cases) and maybe a list of suppliers. Maybe a rule that a fighter has to be paid in full within a certain period of time, assuming that rule isn't actually already in place. Maybe even an escrow situation, a purse bid should be paid in full to the BBBofC, they actually hold the money and then pay the fighters, they also would stop side payments and other manipulations. I'm don't know, maybe I, way off the mark here, anyway I'm interested in what you think and what you know.
There already is a rule in place. Fighters either have to be paid on the night of the fight or within 7 days, depending on the size of the purse. It's been a rule for years.
Its mad how Hearn gets any blame for Matchroom vs Queensbury fights not happening. He'd be knowingly doing his fighter a disservice willingly sending a guy to fight on a Warren card.
