Good fight.Kelly's in trouble here imo so he'd better have a Good set of whiskers! the blown up 140lb campos was walking through his shots with a smile on his face.
I’m judging the fights on their own merits, not based on venue. You’re probably right about the black curtains but I don’t see how that takes the quality away from the fight.
Fook me mate who mentioned the quality of the fight - it is simply at the wrong venue which will be 70% empty at best.
i didn't know that, thats mad 12000 isn't a big number is it. You think by now they have an accurate number of what people are watching with technolgy that we have now.
Yeh its mad those barb figures could be totally wrong. some shows that were axed were doing better than barb stats were saying.
I disagree that this is a strange headliner for a regular Saturday night Sky Sports show as it is a very competitive matchup. I think Josh Kelly has a good chance of winning this one. People are overrating David Avanesyan based on his victories over Kerman Lejarraga. Avanesyan's previous performances, especially the defeats to Lamont Peterson and Egidijus Kavaliauskas, indicate this. Kavaliauskas stopped Avanesyan in six but only drew with Ray Robinson, who also drew with Kelly. I understand that that doesn't necessarily mean that Kelly will beat Avanesyan as you have to look at the individual matchup. However, too much weight is being given to David Avanesyan's victories over Kerman Lejarraga. Kerman Lejarraga is a big puncher and they are often overrated not only until they meet their match but even afterwards. I do believe though that this fight would have been better served by being hosted in the north east where Josh Kelly is from. I reckon a bigger venue could have been filled there than in London and wonder if the O2 is going to be too big given where most of Kelly's fanbase is from.
So this is at the 02 when Usyk v Chisora was meant to be? Hearn didn't book at the 02 with this fight in mind. Shame as this would have been a good undercard fight.
Fair enough. It’s just everyone keeps saying it as if to dismiss it as a Saturday night headliner which I don’t agree with. It’s a good Saturday night show. The only problem is the arena size but if we’re served up a quality fight and a decent undercard then are you bothered there will be empty seats or curtains?
Stuff like that doesn't bother me at all. Never has and never will. Just like a really good event with a few good fights. Seems to be becoming alot more rare these days.
