I think Hunt blows him out early if he trains hard far too powerful and a chin of iron he should walk through Gallen depends how bad he wants it, I can't see Lucas winning at this stage of his career but if he bombs Wallin his stocks rise and he might secure a decent payday against a top condenser. I hope George preforms well, a few good fights over the next few months to enjoy and argue over
Gal should fight Hall and SBW...and not entertain jumping in the ring with seriously dangerous people like Hunt.
I am surprised by the reaction that a lot of people think that Hunt would smash Gallen in a boxing match. He would in an MMA bout of course no question but Hunt has a boxing record of 0-1-1 he is well past it, overweight and 45 years old. I would pick Gallen to beat him and if its more than a 6 rounder I reckon Gallen stops him.
I hadnt really given much thought to how the fight pans out to be honest mate. Just more the fact Gal is a novelty...sort of like the celebrity car races they used to have at the grand prix. Hunt doesn't make business sense in my opinion because I don't think it generates the revenue the other fights do..and Hunt could come straight from a Hāngi, 7 long necks deep and still break bones. I mean I could see it going how you think it would. MH puffing out after a couple of rounds and the impressive engine of Gallen helping him overwhelm. But I don't have a hell of a lot of faith in Paul to take a licking from a real fair dinkum puncher, he walks on to some big leather in most fights. I wouldn't take the risk on my asset if I was Matt Rose.
I get what you are saying, I don’t rate Gal that highly either but he has a good gas tank and is tough. It wouldn’t surprise me if Hunt was over 300 pounds ATM he used to have to cut weight to make 265 for UFC. Also I don’t really regard MMA guys as big punchers it doesn’t translate over to boxing but I guess Hunt has kickboxing experience as well but still I think the deck is stacked heavily in Gal’s favour he is fit active and younger.
As shot as he is I favour Hunt - he has the chin to withstand Gallen, experience and heavy hands. IMO prime Hunt would have flogged every Aus HW we have had in the last two decades.
Good points - depends how motivated Hunt is. IMO still very dangerous as his chin and power are still there.
* Danny Jacobs is a champion bloke and man of his word. DJ once sparring partner of Garth Wood promised St Mary trainer Lincoln Hudson he would visit the kids at his gym the next time in Aust . Last week DJ was at a training camp in NZ when called LH saying he was flying back to the States soon , but he would stop over in Aust to make good on his visit . So last Fri DJ dropped into the Ultimate Training Centre at St Mary's to work with the kids who had travelled from as far as Qld and South Aust. He spent three hrs talking to them about life value's. * Tue Feb 11 at 11.15 am AEST in Sydney Horn vs Tszyu will be offically announced. This fight has generated much interest in the States. Arum is trying to buy the State TV rights on behalf of ESPN.
Gallens no gifted boxer Hunt has fought top strikers MMA but still credible at a higher level and I can't see Gallen bothering him with his punches hope it happens
Yeah I agree I don't think Gal can hurt Hunt with power but I could see him stopping a gassed Hunt especially if it is more than a 6 rounder and Hunt won't pull a Barry Hall and demand 2 minute rounds. With the way Gallen goes in with his head down and unprotected he is very open for the uppercut and Hunt has a good one. It depends how Hunt shows up if he is in shape or if he has ballooned up over 300 and just looking for a pay day which is pretty much what I expect. Also I don't expect the fight to be pretty they will be holding and flopping all over each other.
Maybe. But Hunt when he was any good smashes him and most of the Oceania scene today. Hunt didn't come into his own as a striker until the early 00s and was pretty legitimate. Also was solid during his resurgence as a MMA fighter throughout the 2010s but now age has definitely caught up with him.
Tszyu appeared alot more confident at press conference in my opinion, Horn was praising his successor it seemed at least the clown Rushton wasn't there
Yeah I've had enough of these POS fighters who we keep hearing about who beat,**** and kill women as well as fighters smiling smugly during promotion for fights, enoughs enough true scumbags
I point out Horn's **** eating grin and you go on a tirade about people who abuse women like it is some sort of comparison and something to joke about. Just because there are worse people in boxing than Jeff Horn it doesn't mean I have to like him. My dislike for him has nothing to do with what he does outside of boxing.
