Tunde probably picked the opponent to see how AY handles someone with 48 losses and Big Frank gave it the green light.
This is an absolute joke of a matchup. How the hell does this help Yarde? They need to put him in there with the best in the UK next, something which he should have encountered before signing up to get a beatdown from Kov.
Yarde and team will say they deserve another WBO shot as he had Kov in trouble in one of the rounds. However bottom line is shot Kov totally dominated Yarde for the rest of the fight and exposed his lack of basics. You would hope they would have learned from that fight and taken a few decent domestic/euro level fights to improve. But no he just wants the dosh and a title without putting in much effort compared to other fighters. Hope he fails miserably as i'm sure he will.
I don't take any issue with a softer comeback fight, but these types of fights put someone's health in grave danger. I guess the upshot is these opponents no how to get knocked out and won't take undue punishment.
Yeah even from a shot drunkard Kovalev that's an absolutely almighty drop in level of competition. Yarde is supposed have proven he's ''world class'' now and the only reason he only lost against the ''Fighter of the Year'' (conveniently omit that was back in 2014 lol) Kovalev was due to inexperience so I'm sure they could've found someone just a tad better for him.
I'm afraid we can't blame this one on them because Yarde actually travelled over to Spain to fight this scrub.
