I usually do not pay attention to fury much as he bores me at times. however i went back and looked at the odds Wlad was a high favorite not only that fury was not given much of a chance to win.
The pace of the fight was dull at times however i was surprised how wlads jab could not find its target.
Wlads Jab was one of the most accurate at the time next to Floyds and Golovkins. I think wlad did not throw any punches because he felt every time he threw a punch fury would just make him miss. Its like Fury was in his head . The fight was very boring the pace itself . But just seeing Wlads jab . the jab that helped him dominate the division for over a decade had met its much against an elusive slick target that it could not land on.

i think this is a better win because wlad was more proven than wilder and come on lets be honest outboxing wilder is not so hard even spizka was doing it

fury was an underdog and went to wlads backyard and whooped that ass not many gave him a chance

This was Fury's best fight. Defeating a HW champ who had dominated the division for years was certainly a big deal.
However, the way I look at it was that Wlad lost rather than Fury won. Certainly Fury's movement caused Wlad trouble.
But does anyone believe the 5-10 yrs earlier version of Wlad would not have KO'd Fury, movement or not? There has
been much said about Wlad's mental state coming into this fight...marriage falling apart...but that takes away from
what Fury did. I just think a younger and more focused Wlad easily deals with Fury.

Nonetheless, it will go down as Fury's best fight and, depending on the outcome of this month's battle, his ONLY
decent victory over a strong opponent.

Still by far stands as the best single win in the division, as painfully dull as the fight itself was.

To me Wlad looked lethargic and old. He didn't throw punches cause if he did he would gas after 4-5 rounds .

Even tho Wlad was knocking 40 it was still one of the best wins of the 10s.. along with Rigo Donaire, Floyd Canelo etc..

I don't know how many people actually saw a shutout. Maybe Adalaide Byrd, but nobody else.
Plus it was one of the worst HW titlefights, with the least amount of action over 12 whole rounds. A total stinker.
8 to 4 with very little between them in most rounds.

Wlad looked much better against Joshua, let the hands go, although he was old as said and had looked old vs Fury and vs Jennings in the fight previous to Fury. He was also missing Steward's influence.

People were laughed at for picking Fury. I personally laughed at people for picking Fury and expected Wladimir to spark him cold in a few rounds at most. The fight itself was an unforgettable masterpiece. Even the face-off is addictively enjoyable to watch every now and then. I wish Fury didn't have to run into the personal problems he ran into, he has ATG written all over him.

Wlad had trouble with elusive fighters during that period to the point it made him gun shy.. Fury awkward twitching freezes his opponents which was the same issue Wilder had not to mention Wilder/Wlad are tall but Fury is taller.. With that being said this fight was horrible to watch and was on par with Wlad vs Ibrigamov as the worst HW fight I witnessed.

Give the man his full credit. For years we watched wlad win in absolute snoozefests. Fury goes out there and out wlads wlad and people call it the most boring fight they,ve seen. It was one of wlads most entertaining fights. Eventually someone that could hit him back.

Furys done that before. Chisora looked absolutely lost against him....as did hammer in the run up to wlad. People we,re on here the other night saying wilder had an off night. How many off nights do people need to have against him before people realise furys the one thats making them have off nights.

Wlad was similar to wilder in that they we,re beating up shorter lengthed men using their feet to set it up. When they came up against a decent guy that had length on them they both ended up looking clueless. Wlad was never great....they we,re just great at breaking certain styles. Wilders the same. They then just continually take on that style. Wlad and wilder win fight by moving away everytime a smaller lengthed man went on the offence. Wlad would frustrste them with it....then sneak into range getting a jab off everytime the smaller msn never went forward offensively. Wilder gets the smaller man following then hits him with the right frustrates them by using similar tactics to wlad. Just uses the right hand more.

Wilder and wlad we,re never truely great fighters. Just good gameplans mostly against smaller lengthed men. As soon as they came up against a good similar reached fighter theg we,re found wanting. I,d like to see a list of good fighters each of them beat that had better reaches than them. Or even comparative length.

They dont really have any between them. At least furys beat wlad and tbh wilder with comparable lengths. Joshuas got wlad and whyte. Probably more.

Fury won by any means and under the circumstances it was an extremely impressive performance to out-fox such a dominant and favoured fighter. The fact he solved the puzzle in a unique fashion makes it a classic, regardless of the action. And people say it was a boring fight only because they didn't watch it LIVE and knew the outcome.

It was anything but boring in real time because the threat of the Wlad KO at any given moment and the question of whether Fury would slow down or pay for a mistake. The suspense was massive, particularly as the rounds went by and Wlad fell behind on the cards. An incredible upset was unfolding and Wlad was being scolded by the corner but couldn't find a way. Calling this boring is absurd, it was high drama. The last two rounds had a lot of action too.

To the haters, yes, no ****, if you know Fury isn't going down or getting KO'd when you watch it, nor Wlad, then the cat and mouse isn't going to seem exciting or be rewatched like an action fight, same as a suspense film with a twist which is never the same afterwards. But in real time people were expecting Fury to be iced at any moment and were waiting for Wlad to pull a bomb out the bag. Then, after walking out to a weird Jesus song, Fury took all the belts and sang to his wife. It was a classic fight.

Finally, people blame Fury's style for the lack of action, but Wlad wasn't throwing so Fury couldn't counter him. Fury was throwing the leads, but Wlad would open himself up. So blame Wlad. Because in other back foot fights from Fury against Hammer, Chisora, he threw a lot of punches countering the oncoming fighter. Wlad wasn't prepared to take the counters though.
