Khan has very quick hand speed, and good movement. Don't forget he was doing a great job against Canelo before the KO. However, defensively he isn't the best, and i take your point that he probably doesn't belong on this list. Where is Bud Crawford??? Anyway, I think Amir Khan is a popular fighter because he has the balls to step up and fight the top fighters, ie Canelo, Crawford and he chased the Mayweather fight for a long time. That probably explains his popularity in the poll.

I know we all hate Canelo (and he's not on the list), but the man is very skilled and is also very clever. He also has a resume to back it up.

 

lol at Khan. He is defensively porous and copes with pure speed.

 

Loma has the highest skill level IMO.

People on the original poll who voted for Khan perhaps conflated fast hand speed / combinations / offensive skill (I've always enjoyed watching Khan for these qualities) with overall boxing skills... conveniently forgetting his pretty significant defensive flaws.

Khan is an olympic silver medallist, with ample skill

His defence is not porous or flawed, his chin is weak as fudge

You two are misinformed because you happily forget that many great boxers get tagged like crazy all the effing time and very rarely do you find a skilled boxer who magically avoids all shots

Khan gets tagged no more than any other skilled boxer the difference is the one punch that gets thru completely effs him because he is made of glass

guys like canela and GGG and muhammed ali gets tagged constantly and think nothing of it.. they are durable .. they move on

Usyk gets tagged PLENTY ... plenty!!!!! For eff sake

he is durable and it doesnt effect him as badly as khan

 

I didn't say he was without skills. Of course he is skilled. It's just laughable to mention him with guys like Loma etc due to how defensively porous he is in comparison to fighters like Loma and Canelo, who are also aggressive fighters and yet constantly maintain solid defensive positioning and movement. Khan uses his amazing speed of hand to make up for deficiencies.

No one said anything about 'avoiding all shots'.

And why are you mentioning Usyk here?
