The americans are clueless at promoting by the looks of it. Maybe just a different market....but a good undercard would be the sensible idea. Oppertunity to get a bigger following for other guys in the stable etc. The better undercard....would help shift more sales etc. Would probably cover the extra cost anyway. The more i see from the americans the more i think eddie still has no real competition to worry about in terms of the promotion side of things. Maybe got better fighters....they still look useless at actually promoting. Been like that for a while in the states. Hence why ufc,s killing it. The maybe have more finances and more elite fighters but the promotion of them doesnt look great.
They are struggling to get DAZN to crossover because they are so isolted in terms of promotional avenues. They don't have an ESPN or Fox channels to get the right advertising. Its very much all online and on an app hence why they are trying the Youtube route. Dont underestimate how Sky Sports play a massive role in fight promotions.
@Hattonmad not digging you out or anything but where did you hear it had sold out in 9 minutes as you said the day it went on sale. One of the lads who weren’t originally coming has just booked on. He sent me a picture of the seat plan to see where we are sat and about 80% of the blocks have tickets available (not sure how many in each block). This is on the primary market on axs too none resale. So just weird someone would make a statement like that.
Good point. I think good undercards are good for boxing fans but by and large they don’t make much difference to the finances and often don’t attract that many to buy and for that reason they can often be ignored. We won’t hear anything about the Fury Wilder undercard after the main event.
I was sure Fury would win but the late training change makes me side with Wilder. Not sure why but I just have this feeling he will KO fury after losing rounds.
I'm not surprised. The prices are mental. They're really squeezing it for every dollar and pound they can.
This content is protected Give me a break. Does anybody seriously believe this? I certainly don't. He was ill against Ortiz or whatever it was, and now he broke his hand in the build-up to the first Fury fight, the lies are endless... I have no doubt he'll have yet another excuse in store for us after this rematch, win or lose.
