i have seen often many posts that consider wilder has a glass chin or untested chin. I would like to see proof of this . Any clips ?
Romanov looks decent and beat Wilder to the punch in every exchange. This is what will happen when Wilder faces a live body. Great vid.
I've seen that video before and I've watched Romanov fight live before, he's not the fastest and can take rounds off but he's got good power and decent movement when he uses it.
Well, some no-name floored him as a pro. Ortiz had him hurt and hanging on; however, due to his age didn't have the gas tank to finish the job. Ortiz a few years younger IMO would have stopped Wilder. The rest of Wilders's opponents are either non-punchers or too limited and didn't land any chin checkers on Wilder. The way Wilder fights with his height and the other guy often risking little has worked vs. the caliber of opposition he faced. Fury seems to have Wilder hurt a few times or at least backing up with his gloves high in defense. Fury isn't a big hitter; he's a solid puncher at best. Wilder's chin may not be as bad as some say, but its not good either. I'll give it a 6 out of 10. He also seems a little prone to eye swelling. I'll say it again, his managers have done good job guiding his career.
Harold Scoiners badly knocked him down, and the clip has been scrubbed from Youtube. Also, though ruled a slip, Nichols clearly knocked him down. I am the first to say that he has improved his chin, which, contrary to boxing myth, can be done in several ways. His boxing skills are still non-existent, though.
His chin is pretty good. Skills poor and punching power exceptional. Why does anyone even need to ask this question? Wilder is one of the more easy fighters to read
His chin has been tested in Ortiz I, against a legit puncher. Yeah, he was hurt, but it’s not like he was all over the place or close to being stopped. A glass chin wouldn’t have survived that 7th round. It’s not granite either, but above average imo.
Let's see: Hurt against journeyman Molina in round 3 and his legs buckled Hurt badly by Ortiz in their first fight. Had a doctor step in for no reason to give him 15 seconds to regather himself. Wilder was put down by the limited Harold Sconiers - Not long after the video was wiped clean from YouTube. Don't believe me? Look it up. https://i.imgur.com/Eogkara.png Not surprising, Wilder's brother was TKO'd in the 4th round vs Deets and the footage was pulled for infringements too! Put down by Dustin Nichols (not that it means much...) but it happened. KO'd massively by Evgeny Romanov. Not just one punch either. He was stunned multiple times by the shorter fighter. Hurt by Artur Szpilka via a jab Hurt by David Haye in sparring multiple times with 16oz gloves on Stunned by Gerald Washington His chin isn't great. As @Mendoza said, he was been managed incredibly well and the casuals soak it up. Put him in with someone with fast hands and can take a punch. Wilder is in real trouble... I have said for a long time, Usyk, Ruiz and Parker cause Wilder all sorts of trouble. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
Really? Wasn't close to being stopped? Wasn't all over the place? I guess Wilder fans and boxing fans were watching a different fight... Press play: This content is protected
Wilder fan?! Imao I can’t stand the dude. Didn’t I mention he was hurt? Oh yeah, I did. What I saw from that clip was Wilder getting tagged several times and still keeping his senses to fight back and smother a lot of Ortiz’ heavy work. Also looked okay walking back to his corner, despite the onslaught he just recieved. It’s not like he was walking to the wrong corner or had to be held when sitting down on his stool. The bottom line is this; Wilder’s chin was tested by a big puncher, he was hurt, but it held up. Above average.
Wilder endured the goals of Ortiz but let's be honest I shot him with everything I had despite his tiredness when that happens, do not goloeas with all your strength happened to me
